I understand the son of the former radiologist has taken over
when his dad left. Was wondering what kind of experience anyone has had good or bad? Seems to be a little more friendlier than his father!

We had to have a procedure done that in the past you had to go elsewhere to have it done because his father didn't do them.
He was very kind and reassuring answering all our questions putting us at ease during a very stressful time.

The same goes for the new general surgeon Dr.Gustavo Franco and his staff.
Very Kind and willing to spend whatever time it takes to answer all your concerns.

I sure hope that the young Khalaf doesn't have the older Khalaf's tendencey to yell and scream, especially at the employees. It's rude and embarassing for both the patients and employees.....and NO boss should demean their staff that way. It's a wonder most of them have worked there for a long time !

What upset me was-- a few months back I had to go to the emergency room, of course I have no insurance, but because I am low income the hospital did help me pay my bill but Dr. Khalaf still wanted his money for reading the xrays but did deduct a small amount off but not as much as his dad did. I was quite shaken up to hear that I had to pay most of the bill, which 2 years ago, I was told I only had to pay $34.00 of my 400.00 bill, but now I have to pay over 300.00. He sure is not like his dad when it comes to money. So I have to go without a few food items, pay less on my household bills to make this payment to him, which they did tell me I can pay what I have each month. It was just upsetting for me. Iam not on welfare nor do i ever want to go on welfare and was very glad with my yearly income, which is not much, that the hospital helped pay my bill except for Dr.Khalaf's bill. And I do pay my bills and don't rely on anyone to help me. So, I am sure he will do good, financially! It just upset me.

So you think he should take a pay cut because you can't afford it?

I know I have called his office and the lady that I spoke to was very rude to me! I told her I would not be using Dr Khalaf's services again because I felt he doubled me and over charged me. She responed by saying that was my choice.

What would you have the lady do----go against her boss and say " OK , I will give this for free". She is in the middle of you and the employer----would you rather she had begged you to use his service again ? IT IS YOUR CHOICE, there are other hospitals etc, but charges are charges, services are services !! Do you have insurance or are you another unemployed, self pay or welfare person ? She had no control on your choices

Does it really matter that place is a band aid station ...however i will say i have a friend whose family member had x rays taken and dr omar supposely read them and and said noting was broken and turns out she fractured a bone in her foot! but nothing was broken so she was told and sent home with an ace bandage ...she continued to walk on it and caused more damage to her foot! need to say they will not be going back to punxy for xrays

Their office staff is very rude. I used their services through the ER and was hospitalized several times, with Medicaid picking up a portion of my bill. His billing secretary absolutely refused to submit my bill because it was after the deadline for the first hospitalization and refused to believe me when I told her they were accepting further bills and paying them. She never did submit the bill, although everything else submitted at that time was paid. They sent it to collection almost immediately. I'm giving them $20 a month simply because that is the lower amount of payment that will keep the tiny balance from being prosecuted. Rude, rude people there, I have to say.

I too have had billing issues with this office....BUT when I called and discussed them with the clerks they were very nice and helpful. I am thinking it must be your attitude. They offered to re submit whatever I asked and if it still was denied to work with me on a payment plan. My policy is the problem, not the office.....check with them again and work with them.....it's doable

When you call and ask for help the lady that I spoke to says that 20% is all the dr allows if you do not have any insurance and they are willing to take monthly payments I think thats pretty fair! They told me payments could be what ever I could afford to send and thats what I have been doing!

I just heard that the office for the Khalaf's was closed a while ago. The Sr. doctor is still in charge, but the son does the readings and the billings go thru a "service"

the service that you mentioned has very nice girls working there! They explained everything nicely and patient too! was nice to get a nice voice on the line for once! I hope things work out for the better for sr and his son carol!!!

His office is not closed he still practices at the hospital so I have no idea where that news came from when I inquired at the hospital radiology dept I was told that it was not true! just thought I would pass that bit of info along after wall if your going to gossip make sure your facts are correct!!!!!!

Good people do good things, it's not always about making maximum money.

He's much smarter than you could ever dream of being...so not sure what that says about you. If you want to be racist, then good riddance. Go to Dubois. You won't be missed.
