Fire Keith Wolfe, get rid of the lazy teachers, and get teachers that want to teach and make learning fun again, and you won't have so many kids switching to cyber school.in all honesty the companies that run the cyber schools should be getting the money, not the school districts.

There has to be a reason in Punxsy why so many kids drop out, don't want to go to school, or their parents have them home schooled, or they choose cyber school, or even a private school, especially since Keith Wolfe has taken over as superintendent.

Well i your right but i think also that the reasons alot of them are going to cyber school is because it's still the name thing, bullying is really bad right now and so are the drugs.
If i had any kids in school right now i would consider cybering them becuase of those things along with the teachers also not wanting to do their jobs. But hey they don't have to submit to drug testing either .

Bullying isn't any worse than it was 30 years ago. The difference is that we are aware now. We can't and shouldn't eliminate it entirely. It should be kept in check but it is part of the developmental process that are kids should go through. What we are now seeing with mass shootings and violence with the younger generation is a result of not allowing that process take place where is should and now it rears it's ugly head when the young adults face situations that they haven't developed the skills to deal with.

When I was in school , never brought a book home . now the kids can hardly carry their backpacks they are so full. the teachers make way to much money and dont teach. I have to teach my child every night because the teacher does not do their job . the school district should pay the parents and get rid of all the lazy teachers .

Tony, I agree with you. We have become a "woosified" society. Every child should get a trophy whether they earned it or not. No...that is not how life works. You get rewarded when you have performed the task at hand. Sometimes even then you don't get rewarded, the other guy does but guess what kids, "LIFE IS NOT FAIR". Learn it and get over it. If you think that teaching is easy. Go get your degree, pass the tests, get a teaching job and then while you are working go back to school to continue your education that is mandated by the state. Yeah, teaching your own kids isn't that hard but try teaching 25 kids at a time and oh by the way, they all have special needs that you must adjust to. Get over yourselves. I am sure that your job isn't that hard either, that is if you even work. Oh, by the way, I am not a teacher and I do not work for the school.

Just a thought , you say you are sure my job is not that hard , you i am sure would not last 10 mins at my job . many nights i can barely make it home . then i have to teach my child also. so get over yourself , and speak for yourself and not me. I do agree with the 1st part of your statement.

well back when the teachers were permitted to correct the students, and students could settle their differences without law inforcement being involved things were better. But now kids are intergrated in the class room that don't want to behave or listen which is about 85% of your special needs students and the school district gets 1500 per student with "special needs" and the parent (were most of the problem lies )gets 600 per month for a child on ssi.
If most of the "concerned parents" with children that had special needs were actually parents and not treated the school system as a baby sitter maybe things would be different.what gives them the right to disrupt another students education because they don't want to listen? and i don't work for the schooleither.

600/month for ssi??????...not true. courts have narrowed eligbility standards. not many can get ssi even though they are on the spectrum.
