What a crock of $hit!
The borough council is doing nothing but wasting money and their appeal is only buying them time.

4 members of the borough council and a overpaid lawfirm from Pittsburgh are running up one hell of a bill for the citizens of Punxy... When will the people of Punxy demand that the four council members and the borough manager step down... they are incompetent and have only succeeded in estroying the lives of good cops (people) in their quest for power and influence. Shame on them. Do they serve the people or do the people serve them? Maybe the AG should come back and do another investigation of them?

People need to vote new Council in instead of just griping about it.
Make your VOTE count.

I have said it all along that the borough pres should not have been elected in the first place, then a second time! Wow Punxsy how sad for you - I guess that is what you get when you hire/elect these council members - how did her son in law get to be a police person? and their house was free thanks to a good attorney!

Here's a news flash, the two cops that got fired also stood up for Andrekovich during the civil service investigation... think that had anything to do with their firing? Read the civil service commissions report in the Punxy Spirit... the borough council is way out of line and I hope they get fired... who can do that... let's find out and get a vote of no confidence from the Punxy Citizens.

Bruster,

Once again, you show your ignorance. Read the commission report, the findings from the AG, and the testimony of the mayor... get informed. And you need to look beyond the smear campaign the self serving council is running on the officers.

"clean house" I agree, start with the politicians and their administrative goons. Not the heros, that keep your family safe.

Again, read the facts Bruster.

I am so tired from people calling policeman heros.
A hero is someone that puts thier safety on the line for no recognition or pay.
The police are paid and the have to take the bad with the good. Besides when was the last time that a cop put his life on the line?
road construction workers are more at risk that cops.
Give me a break. Are you a cop or married to one?

Sounds like you wanted to be a cop but couldn't get hired.

I'm not a cop or a spouse. I'm just a friend who is tired of seeing good people get hurt by lies and misinformation.

when commenting proodread and/or use spell check. its hard to read and take your comments seriously when it looks like a 6 year old typed them. the people of punxsutawney are responsible for their own fate. we the people are the ones that vote the council members in, and yet some members are serving consecutive terms. if your not happy with the performance of council then make your voice heard, attend meetings and make your choices carefully when voting. some members of council have extensive histories, and that should not be overlooked. as for the police dept., some of the individuals (i used the word individual, because they are individualas) are very hard working dedicated officers. dont judge the dept as a whole, as it has many individuals.

Maybe some self-styled geniuses should take there own advice and "proodread" the stupid things they post online. Sticksandstones's post contains misspelled words, incorrect capitalization, improper punctuation, and run-on sentences. In addition, the author seems to be unfamiliar with the concept of contractions. Brian Andrekovich was paid in excess of $75,000 in damages and recieved pay while on leave. A "hero" cop gets rewarded for causing the death of a man who even an idiot like sticksandstones would agree didn't deserve to die. Wake up you damn sheeple! Officer friendly is a myth. Brian Andrekovich should be in jail.

Maybe people like you should actually find out all the facts before posting, and actually read the trial transcripts, etc.... you might then learn something, instead of just going by gossip you read online, or untruthful reports by the local newspaper.

As well as the stupidness of the Borough Council when they agreed to settle out of court.
