Timeline of Katrina. No mention of taking guns from citizens except for those boarding busses:

Hereís the difference between the intelligent liberals and conservative parrots - working to find the truth. You decided that ALL the witnesses and troops were lying, and that the film footage was a fraud because one website didnít mention that. No intelligent person would take your side, and trust one website, not with the amount of government lying and propaganda being put out today.

So, I contacted Fact Check and weíll see what they say.
Blind obedience to authority is the same as blind belief in what youíre told.

People: make up your own mind - never believe what one personís opinion is. Hereís the footage again - it begins at 9 mins. where FEMA even admits theyíre going to be taking all guns, and then a soldier talks about it, then at 11 and 16 mins. footage of the events. At the beginning (1Ĺ mins) and end (20 mins.), the official State Dept. document that reveals their plan for complete disarmament of the people.

Really? factcheck? Maybe you different sources.
NEW ORLEANS (AP)ó City officials have agreed to return hundreds of firearms that police officers confiscated in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, part of a deal to resolve a lawsuit filed by gun lobbying groups.
The settlement agreement filed Tuesday in federal court calls for the National Rifle Association and Second Amendment Foundation to drop their case if the city follows a plan for returning guns to owners who had them seized by police after the Aug. 29, 2005, hurricane.
CREDIT CRISIS: New Orleans' recovery threatened
Both sides also are asking U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier to sign off on the pact and issue a permanent injunction barring the city from seizing lawfully possessed firearms. Barbier didn't immediately rule on the agreement, which doesn't involve a monetary award.
Police department spokesman Bob Young said it has stored 552 guns that were confiscated after Katrina, through Dec. 31, 2005. Police have said they only took guns that were stolen or found in abandoned homes.
Hardly a right wing source.

Another:
More than 1,000 firearms were illegally seized by the police and National Guard troopers, without warrant or probable cause, and with no legal authority under existing statute.

"Troops went to DRY houses after Katrina to take guns, ignoring rape victims, hurricane victims, etc.
Troops fight AGAINST liberals, not FOR them, so only conservative morons believe that liberals are behind FEMAís crimes."
Your links indicate that guns were taken by local police--not troops. Furthermore, according to your on source " Police department spokesman Bob Young said it has stored 552 guns that were confiscated after Katrina, through Dec. 31, 2005. Police have said they only took guns that were stolen or found in abandoned homes."
This was not a federal issue but a local one. Bush nor any federal agency disarmed citizens in the aftermath of Katrina.
Yeah, Iím sure the Feds and local cops never talk to each other, and all those protesters that were savagely attacked by cops, just coincidentally, all over the country had nothing to do with the massive amount of money the Feds poured into local police departments. If you want to be a scumbag traitor, defending the government, thatís your choice. Those of us with common sense know how to read between the lines, and see where the threat is taking us.
I posted the video to warn people, especially brain-dead Republicans who think their guns are their salvation, and celebrate the chance to finally kill liberals themselves, instead of just paying taxes so the Feds can kill them via homelessness. You never see Republicans demand taxes be cut which force them to murder liberals.
Village idiots: The traitors are in the federal government, the Republicans in Congress, and in federal agencies that are all working to make this a police state. The Nazis are using propaganda just like they did in WWII, and morons are again falling for every lie.
None of this is a liberal agenda -- thatís common knowledge, yet youíre so dumb you donít even see that simple fact.

I'm pretty sure there are already laws on the books against using a gun to commit mass murder. A lot of good they did, huh?

Yes, and don't we all believe what daddy-government says. They'd NEVER lie to us because they respect us as intelligent human beings, not sheep to be herded and owned.

Welcome to Topix!

Isn't it interesting that the government just goes after the guns legally owned by responsible citizens, but not an all-out war against the trafficking of illegal guns that end up in the hands of criminals?

And I guess that also means they took the time to check out each gun before confiscating it, to be sure it was illegal or stolen!
Hard to believe there are people who still believe anything they hear from authority figures. They're just emotionally retarded overgrown children all their lives.

Is English a second language for you? It is for me. And it is obvious I have greater comprehension than you. But then again I am German, I'm perfect, well except for the scar on my hand and one under my left eye.
Do you understand the use of a comma (,)? When the 2nd Amendment is read out of context, and not the full text, sure your implied interpretation stands. However, you are far from correct.
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
See that part "...,the right of the People to keep and bear Arms"? That refers too, clearly and concisely, the People, the Citizens. Why is this concept so difficult for the anti-gun crowd to comprehend?
The scar.... Ah yes,I remember where you got that. It was in Hiedleburg,in the duel with Graf Von Schlipponpeel.... Nasty fighter the Graf.

opinion. People grounded in reality don't base their behavior on believing that they may need to shoot or threaten somebody every time they leave the house. Nor do they view efforts to keep arsenals out of the hands of the mentally ill an criminals as personal threat. Nor are they paranoid about the government. Nor do they stockpile ammo and weaponry because black man is reelected.
All irrational fears promoted by the pistols suckers and those that sell them hardware and extremist ideology.
People that are grounded in reality are prudent about how they conduct their lives. They make a will. They carry insurance. If they live where tornadoes strike they have a shelter. If they live where hurricanes strike they prepare for that. They also know evil people are in our society and they make preparations to defend themselves and their family. They have weapons because they know it is their responsibility to keep elected official from becoming tyrants.

No , I am disgusted that the rights of those responsible for those children were infringed. The gun grabbers got their way and not one employee of the school could be "legally" armed. That is the best way for them to defend the lives of their small charges. My grandchildren are guarded by a firearm when they are with me.

The deaths of these people are the responsibility of those who push laws to disarm law abiding citizens.

s we speak the liberal press areon screen lamenting the "tragedy" and spouting pious platitudes how terrible it is,and it is. BUT,off screen they are relishing both the ratings factor and this golden opportunity to once again push for gun legislation. Watch and see. There will be the expected demand for hearings and Congressional/Presidential action to limit access to firearms, most particularly those nasty "assault" weapons.
