<quoted text>There are two ways around the leading problem.

1. Keep velocities below 1,000 fps to prevent leading to begin with,or

2. Use Kroil for lead (and/or copper) removal. A superfine penetrating/cutting compound,Kroil seeps beneath the lead (and/or copper) coating in the barrel and floats it for easier extraction with a brush and/or patches. Makes a great bore cleaner too.

(ANOTHER way is to use a mercury soaked patch but NOT recommended, tho VERY effective.)

Another way is to use a gas check if using cast lead slugs. Those are a brass cup that seats on the base of the slug and as it seals the expanding gases it also scrapes the leading from the barrel as the slug goes down range.

Gas checks are for magnum calibers or rounds going faster than 1,000 fps. I use gas checks on my cast 6.5x55mm Swedish reloads. Loaded lower for a Krag they still fly at about 2,000-2,100 fps.

I love my 6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser. I've never reloaded for it. Typically shoot Norma 139 gr. Ammo through it.

Go to PMC. Cheaper yet reliable. I am on my second 6.5 Krag. Found out the HARD way that 6.5x55 stuff loaded these days are for Mauser actions. Blew my first one in half at the breech ring. Nasty surprise. Took several years to replace it. Now I reload. The powder charge is kept 3 grn below the standard loads for a mauser action. My current Krag was made in 1915 and shoots like a dream. Pretty accurate out to 500 yards or better, well better than my old eyes can see to shoot that far with anymore. LOL I had the military leaf sights removed and replaced them with a set of Lyman fully adjustable micrometer(peep)sights. WORLD of difference. Just like shooting, sight picture wise, any of my issue weapons in the Marines. M-14,M-16....

FYI: all major ammo makers do a limited run of "orphan ammo",not so common calibers, once a year. Amounts vary fromm company to company. Also you can still get surplus 6.5 from some company in the shotgun news. I think its belted for MGs but thats easy to fix. Great for plinking stuff. Corrosive as he11 and Berdan primed, but if you're just gonna toss the casings anyway.....

Those who like to pretend that people are outrageous or lunatics for acknowledging the threat democrats pose to the 2nd Amd should consider how they feel when someone tells them that republicans have no intention of trying to make abortion illegal.

I am not comparing the two issues, only how agendas are applied to policy and also how government is pretty much completely severed from the founding American principles. I do believe I heard Paul Ryan say in the debate that his religious beliefs (the papists are coming!:)) will have direct influence on his political decisions. I found that deeply offensive.

The men who debated and argued over the Constitution and the BOR did so by appealing to men's reason through philosophy, history, and experience. Just as I see the pro-2nd Amendmenters on the Topix gun forums and elsewhere doing. They argue with logic - they present fundamental philosophical principles. It's why I like them so much.

Who else talks about Liberty anymore besides them? Who else refers to absolutes and philosophical truths anymore? I only see the "gun nuts" doing so. One example is that Costas moron saying that if the football player didn't have a gun then likely he and his girlfriend would still be alive. That is such a child-like response to the event. It reminds me of this little kid who said we should just go to the bank to get some money because that's where they keep it. It's creepy that Costas' lack of insight or thought prevented him from considering that there are plenty of scenarios that could have also prevented those deaths - such as a hyper-police state or even putting every other black male in prison when they become a teenager also could have prevented this death. Lobotomy, cutting his hands off, hell, maybe banning football so he never would have played. Let's just play around with the butterfuly effect shall we? Surely if infringing on the Rights of 300 million other people because of the decisions a small minority make sounds reasonable than we could put some other stuff on the table too right?

As to Waco, yes David Koresh was a sick vile perverted man. He used children, and the others in the compound, as shields.

Ruby Ridge was the Fed grossly overreaching and bogus claims. There has NEVER been any proof of wrong doing by the Weavers. So a pregnant woman, holding her child, and shot in the back is using said child as a shield? Interesting.

There is absolutely NOTHING remotely similar to Waco and Ruby except that Federal Agents murdered innocent women and children in cold blood.

Guns have become expensive because of restrictions on manufacturers, meeting government compliance, customer demand, inflation,.... And no our economy has not made a "healthy recovery". Haven't you heard the news in the past 6 months? CLUE: FISCAL CLIFF. If our economy was recovered and healthy there would not be a "fiscal cliff".

7.8% means that 92.2% is working now,at the best of times we have over 4% not working. We have come a long ways in 4 years..like it or not.. Have you ever hear of price & demand? The more guns they sale the more money they charge. I love the way that they lead people with a few lies..Like don't tax the job maker like you did in the 90s when things were good. We have had the Bush tax cuts for 11 years now and look at all the jobs we have from it?

"Fiscal Cliff" has nothing to do with our current ONGOING ECONOMIC RECOVERY....it was put in place and is about, the situation of the House republicans holding our economy hostage, during the past debt ceiling negotiations....Remember, when the earned the Treasury a lowered credit rating?

Former George W Bush speechwriter David Frum, firing a brutal shot from the moderate camp, summed up their tactics the best: "Republicans have been fleeced and exploited and lied to by a conservative entertainment complex," he told MSNBC.

Those incedents were under a past liberal administration. Wonder what the current liberal administration would do should a similar occasions arise? No different no doubt. Liberals seem to be all about murder of citizens in the preservation of governmental authority.......

I case you missed it the current administration is and HAS been the most hostile to business since FDR. Regulations and the uncertainty in future tax policy not to mention the unknowns in ObamaCare have put the clamps on serious hiring. Any future hires will NOT be full time(40 hrs) unless absolutely necessary. Jobs will become part time (32 hrs or less) to avoid increased benefit costs to employers in this business hostile enviroment. I will be cheaper to hire two part timers than one full time employee. Looks like the legacy of Obama will be the replacement of Jimmy Carter as America's worst President.(BTW: Carter is STILL sending Thank You cards to Obama. Rumor has it that Carter erected an 40 foot tall billboard sign on his farm next to the raod that says,"GO BARRY").

OK, I'm getting confused with the name, is this GB?

Wrong. 7.8% does NOT mean 92.2% is working. It means that 7.8% are currently receiving unemployment benefits, and are counted among those of the unemployed. The real unemployment, including those that are no longer eligible for UIC, those that are working Part-time to fill in the gaps, and those that have stopped looking for work is around 12%(Forbes, WSJ, ADP, CNN). The USA is no where near a 92.2% real employment rate.
