I heard a statistic on the radio today on the Bill Bennet show. His guest said that wind energy costs 300% more to use and solar 500% more to use than the energy we use today. Hey, give people a choice. If others want to pay that kind of money to keep green, I say go for it, but don't force me to do the same.

My green stays in my pocket.

I have never given it much thought, but I think it’s about Jesus Christ and most likely a denial that he is son of God as well as a mockery of martyrdom. Nevertheless, it is an amazingly poetic and well crafted song, multilayered and multidimensional.

For years I thought it was about Jesus as well.

It turns out it is about the song writer coming of the road and returning to his home in Nazareth Pennsylvania.

Even the US Justice Department's own National Institute of Justice finds that gun control laws & restrictions don't work.

You can find the memo here:

http://www.nraila.org/media/10883516/nij-gun-...

On the idea of “banning” so-called assault weapons:

"Twitter summary: Assault weapons are not a major contributor to gun crime. The existing stock of assault weapons is large, undercutting the effectiveness of bans with exemptions[...]

Guns are durable goods. The 1994 law exempted weapons manufactured before 1994. The exemption of pre-1994 models ensures that a large stock, estimated at 1.5 million, of existing weapons would persist. Prior to the 1994 ban, assault weapons were used in 2-8% of crimes. Therefore a complete elimination of assault weapons would not have a large impact on gun homicides.[...]"

On the prevalence of mass shootings (a key statistic used by gun control advocates such as Piers Morgan):

"Fatalities from mass shootings (those with 4 or more victims in a particular place and time) account on average for 35 fatalities per year. Policies that address the larger firearm homicide issue will have a far greater impact even if they do not address the particular issues of mass shootings."

And finally, on the so-called "assault weapon" bans:

"Since assault weapons are not a major contributor to US gun homicide and the existing stock of guns is large, an assault weapon ban is unlikely to have an impact on gun violence."

Since even the government itself does not think gun control will mitigate gun violence or eliminate guns, what else could they possibly hope to accomplish other than simply disarming the people to be able to change them from free citizens into enslaved, helpless subjects?

Of course it works -- it's the usless laws that don't!!! There are more than 130,000 federally licensed firearms dealers in the US. Compare that with a 144,000 gas stations nation wide or 137,000 grocery stores – are you getting the picture here? The US has the highest gun ownership rate in the world – there are 89 guns for every 100 Americans, compared to 4 in the UK and Canada. The murder figures are astounding; the Brits show around 550 murders per year. In 2011 there were 12,664 murders in the US, 8,583 were caused by firearms.

So we are talking .004% of the American population are murdered and of the population only .00003% by firearms compared to the socialist Brits where .000009 are killed where guns are illegal.
That's only a 3:1 ration. For a population that is almost 5:1 of Britains, looks like the Brits are much more violent compartively speaking.
