Gates and DumBama were not embarrassed by anybody. They embarrassed themselves. And yes, it is against the law to not follow the orders of a police officer during an investigation. Turn on the show C.O.P.S. sometime or purchase a police scanner. You will see for yourself. When police officers are trying to restore order and you don't comply, you will be arrested. Saying that it's okay to disobey their orders is like saying you don't have to follow their signals when they are directing traffic at a non-functioning stop light.
