Yeah, poor George Zimmerman. All he had was a loaded gun. What kind of defense is that against a kid with a bag of skittles and a soda?
Do yourself a big favor. Read all of the publically available evidence. Your focus on kid and Skittles indicates youíre not digging deeper. Your claim of soda indicates youíre not versed in the case. It wasnít soda, it was tea. Arizona tea if I recall correctly.

Iíve read every publically available police report, investigative report, coroners reports. Every bit of information provided by the attorneys on both sides.

The case isnít that simple. Do you know itís still possible the case will never see a jury?

Actually I believe Don Imus was within his rights to use the term nappy headed hos. I feel itís wrong, inappropriate but absolutely his right. Itís perfectly acceptable for everyone to exercise their First Amendment rights. However, itís also acceptable for others to disagree.
Like it or not, Obama absolutely is a racist.
Letís see how you do here. Is affirmative action a form of racism?
Well, you agree that Obama was within his rights to disagree with Imus. So why do you take issue with Obama's remarks about Imus? Please, it's too late in the day to start a discussion on a topic like affirmative action. But to answer your question, no, I don't think affirmative action is "racist".

By the way, you say "Obama absolutely is a racist". You have not provided one shred of eveidence to support that. Unless, merely talking about race makes a person "racist".

you are quite insane. What actually happens is all of the gun fetish folks run out to the store to buy the same weapons used instead of reflecting on their complicity.
What is up with that?
This particular massacre was a tipping point for normal people and it moved the president to move in a direction that he didn't really want to go. Biden listened to everybody and the proposed changes are on the table. Now reading this website we understand there are some mfkin crazy marginal people out there, so we'll see what happens. I'm sure some rational things will get done.
Nothing those two jokers came up with will prevent the next school shooting nor the death toll it will cause. The problem is you on the left want to ignore the right to own firearms but give plenty of rights to mentally ill people. Years ago we used to have potentially dangerous people committed. But the libs didn't like that, so they protested that locking people away in institutions was crime-less incarceration. They had to unlock the doors and allow those people to roam free; they do so until today.

Maybe a few White Entertainment Channels as well. I remember blacks protesting that number one shows like Friends and That 70's show didn't have black people in them. So they were pressured into creating characters for black actors and the shows went downhill after that. A white entertainment channel wouldn't have to bow to such pressure. After all, it's the White Entertainment Channel.

I don't know what to tell you, Prep. I still side with the homeowner, who was guilty of no crime, other than having the nerve to enter his own house. According to the police report itself, Gates didn't begin yelling at the cop until AFTER he had already identified himself, and proved it was his house.
But I agree with you that the race card is overused. I assume you will not be participating in Gun Appreciation Day ,which is being held to protest Obama's gun policy. In case you don't know it, one of the sponsors is a group called A3P (American Third Position). I will let the opening statement on their website speak for itself: "The American Third Position Party believes that government policy in the United States discriminates against white Americans, the majority population, and that white Americans need their own political party to fight this discrimination."
I'm sure you object to the gun lobby "playing the race card", right?
"According to the police report itself, Gates didn't begin yelling at the cop until AFTER he had already identified himself, and proved it was his house."

IF...what YOU say were true, I would probably agree with you 100%. However, since your comment is NOT accurate and it was Gates himself that used his own race in a situation in which it wasn't warrented ("why, because I'm a black man in America?"), then I will disagree with you. Gates was yelling well before he was identified as the home owner...and he continued to yell when outside the home, thus presenting the "loud and tumultuous behavior, in a public place, directed at a uniformed police officer who was present investigating a report of a crime in progress" resulting in his arrest for disorderly conduct. The police were there to protect his property, NOT to harass him.

Why would you "assume" that...? As far as I'm concerned, EVERYDAY should be "Gun Appreciation Day".

[CUT FOR BREVETY]
Frome Crowley's own report, the following facts are clear.
1. Gates was already inside his home when Crowley arrived
2. Crowley explained to Gates that he was responding to a call about a possible break-in.
3. Gates became agitated and offended, accusing Crowley of being suspicious simply because a black man was living in such a home.
4. Crowley believed Gates was telling the truth about being the lawful resident of the home, but for some reason, asked for a photo ID to "verify" it.
5. After Gates showed handed over his ID, he asked for it back, more than once.
6. Crowley asked Gates to step outside of his home to continue the discussion.
7. After Gates made the "speak to your mama" remark, Crowley decided to arrest him for "disorderly conduct."
To me, Gates was out of line for being so defensive, and for shouting at the cops. That was undignified, and uncalled for. He could have made more of an effort to understand why the police had been called. However, Gates was tired from his long trip, and he was annoyed at finding his door damaged, and upset at having to force his way into his house. The cops could have been more understanding of Gates feelings. So bottom line: both Gates and Crowley share some blame. But again, in a confrontation between an annoyed cop and an angry, but law-abiding citizen, I side with the citizen.
"Officer Crowley, according to his OWN REPORT, had to knock on the door, and wait for Gates to answer it before he ever saw Gates."

Wrong.

"Crowley's report further states that he believed Gates was lawfully in the residence, but that he was surprised and confused by Gates' behavior, which included a threat that Crowley did not know who he was "messing with."

AND..called Sgt Crowley a "racist police officer"...corroborated with the statement of the second officer on scene.

"4. Crowley believed Gates was telling the truth about being the lawful resident of the home, but for some reason, asked for a photo ID to "verify" it."

"but for some reason"...?...Well DUH!...that's called police work...you identify people that you are in contact with on official police business. Crowley stated; "While I was led to believe that Gates was lawfully in the residence, I was quite surprised and confused with the behavior he exhibited toward me. I asked Gates to provide me with photo identification so that I could verify that he resided at -- Ware Street and so that I could radio my findings to ECC.". Can you imagine the uproar if it was some other "black man" claiming to reside there and the police just leave WITHOUT making identification and verification...?

"5. After Gates showed handed over his ID, he asked for it back, more than once."

You misread...Gates was NOT asking for his ID to be returned...he was asking Sgt Crowly for his name...repeatedly...even after it had been provided.

"...out of line for being so defensive, and for shouting at the cops. That was undignified, and uncalled for..."

AND became disorderly conduct after repeated warnings to calm down.
"He could have made more of an effort to understand why the police had been called."

Like being there to protect his property.

"However, Gates was tired from his long trip, and he was annoyed at finding his door damaged, and upset at having to force his way into his house."

Doesn't justify his behavior and accusations against the police.

"The cops could have been more understanding of Gates feelings."

They were...up to the point he carried his verbal assaults into the public.

Sorry, I missed your answer on affirmative action. You did indeed answer.

How can affirmative action not be racist? It doesnít provide equal protection to all. It also can be interpreted as the government doesnít believe African Americans can succeed on their own. Itís racism no matter how you want to view it.

I've heard that complaint many times. What I usually ask people is if it's shorter than White History month. That shuts them up for a while.

Huh? The notion that white people in this country are suffering from discrimination is patently absurd, it is however a self-serving talking point used by rightwingnuz all the time

You can call it whatever you wish it is nothing more than whining, it is a small sacrifice to make for a huge debt we owe to a race of people that have been subjected to relentless humiliation and subjugation for two centuries by uncaring and indifferent white folks!
