the law states as follows...
You can receive a fine. If the inspection sticker on your vehicle has expired in the past 60 days, you can receive a fine of $25 to $50. If the inspection sticker is expired more than 60 days, the fine is between $50 and $100. If there is no inspection sticker, the fine is between $50 and $100. Mandatory state surcharges of $55, plus additional fees, are added to the fine.
OK...My ? is..It says you can receive a fine..who decides if I get a fine or not....My inspection went out in may and Im trying to find out what it will cost

Ultimately I would say a judge would decide. Just be careful who you take it to, could be a cheap simple fix but some garages take advantage of that. This happened to me at Paul's Auto....never again!! Good luck

Why would you wait until you get pulled over?? Get it inspected! It will not cost any more at the garage!
