Yeah, and I think I just saw a pig fly...
I sat in gas lines in 1973 in my first Mustang. Did it again with my second in 1979. On my fourth right now. Deja vu all over again, only this time it's going to be worse ... waaaaay worse.
Welcome to the beginning of the end of the Oil Age. Been predicted erroneously many times before, but this time the wolf at the door is real, courtesy of dwindling world supplies of easy oil, the political instability of the Planet of the Apes, and the Chinese and Indian car bombs.
A year from now we will be paying $5-plus a gallon and be happy to get it when we can, boys and girls. This time it's real.
Study up on global peak oil, Hubbert's Peak (which nailed the 1970 peaking of U.S. oil production from the vantage point of 1956) and Richard Hirsh's GAO-funded federal peak oil report, which was delivered to the Luddite Bush-man Administration in February and promptly buried because they didn't like what it said, or were too scared to admit it.
