For years, Princeton's "leadership" seemed opposed to growth. I think that some of the council members thought "if it was good enough for my grandpaw, then it's good enough for me". Now they've had a chance to "join the real world" and really start growing and you've got one family who is so afraid that they'll have to turn loose of some of their money to help the city that they spent thousands of dollars to defeat the home rule charter election.

I appreciate how folks from elsewhere know and care more about my town than the people here. Should they seek out all the facts, they might not be so quick to judge others. The fact is that the family that helped to shoot down the home rule proposal has much to loose and nothing to gain as many of us are. The city has stated that the property annexed will receive no city services but will enjoy the benifit of higher taxes. I think that is the biggest reason for the Revolutionary War. Taxation without representation, we don't get to vote against being annexed because we are not in the city limits until we are annexed in. Please remeber too, the pictures shown in the news article are privately owned, and the owner has failed to properly maintain them.
