When I was a little boy, my grandfather told me a story that, when he was a little boy, his great-grandfather told him a story that, when he was a little boy, he once saw the Butler Golden Tornadoes actually win a football game...I'm wondering if that was actually true, was there really a time when the Butler Golden Tornadoes won a football game?

But there's a perfectly good reason for that: see, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison and I went to pick her up in the rain but, before I could get to the station in my pickup truck, she got run over by a damned old train

I know it's hard to believe, but there actually was a time when Butler High used to win. They had some hard-working athletes who were really committed to their game and gave 100% each and every time. Nowadays kids don't care about that, they'd rather be out doing drugs and stealing cars and raping and perpetrating random acts of violence, sports is no longer a priority. Honest to God, the Butler High football team was so bad this year I could beat them all by myself and that's not an exaggeration

I occasionally listen to games on radio and catch a couple on channel 50. It appears to me the coach is as much to blame as the kids. Oh and let's not forget the schoolboard who don't know if the ball is stuffed or inflated and yet are in charge of hiring the coach.

Art Bernardi was, far and away, the best coach that Butler High ever had. He was my coach and I had (and still have) the utmost respect for him. He also the most successful because he taught his players discipline, as it pertained to knowledge of the sport, and how to conduct themselves on and off the field. He could be strict, but that only encouraged us to better ourselves as not only athletes but human beings. His successors, as experienced as they may be, just don't possess his techniques of transforming young men into athletes.

The kids no-a-days are p***ies. They'd rather be in the band and sit on their arses and play xbox.
