The only person who has an understanding of how to do a budget, understands the water district and sewer district is Bob Seager. Right now Bill H. has to refer any questions on these two district to Bob. If he is not on the town board, who will do it? NO ONE!
Parker has his good points but he needs to have some type of municipal experience before he can be supervisor. The tow reaming board members are still serving their first terms. We need to have some one on the board that has institutional knowledge of the town.

I have to say that I agree with you. Bob has a vast knowledge of the Towns inner workings and I respect that but your assumption that there is nobody there to do is flawed. When a company hires a new president, he has to rely on the current personal, use the existent budget as a blue print and make changes as the learning curve permits. I never was a Bridge Committee Chairperson before either. Bob and I are friends and I don't believe for a minute that he wouldn't help me and the Town....

One other comment on the budget. Who ever gets elected supervisor won't be able to submit a budget until October 2014 because his term would start in January 2014 and the budgets are done in October......

You put way to much trust in Bob Parker! He will surely be your friend or walk all over you to get what he wants! If he were such a good friend he would help you in your quest to be supervisor rather than run as a spoiler against you!

That's not completely true! Where did Bob learn it from? Who was the budget officer for years and years and always had the taxpayers best interest in mind? That person is still available and I bet would help Parker in a heart beat if asked!!

has anybody been seeing what has been going on around here? Bill H. and Bob S, have been the ones in charge as supervisor and town board member, we need new people that care. NOT MORE OF THE SAME.
wonder why

It causes one to wonder why Bob is doing this. His prior record as office holder speaks for itself, and while some good things were accomplished when he was Supervisor, there is a time for everything, and he has had that. Why possibly ruin a good track record by having to take the abuse again Bob, and preventing a new breath of fresh air and someone with as much if not more credential than you have, from steering our community down the right path?
Doesn't make sense.
You are not just being a spoiler here are you? Looks that way!

Regarding post 6
All the more reason to realize how important it is that Parker be elected. That first year will be a doozie, since you and the board will be confined to a possible austere budget over which you will have no control Operating your first year may be a tough one, but I believe if the majority of the council will do what is needed to HELP instead of CONTROL or worse yet USE the taxpayers, it will help us all.
The much needed change is going to be made with Parker at the helm.

Putting together a budget is only part of the process. The month to month work is a whole lot more. Ask anyone who has ever served as supervisor in any town. There are state required reports that need to be done ans numerous state regulations in place. Also NYS has a 2% tax cap in place. You have to honor your commitment before you do new things. Government is not like business. If seem of the current department heads are friend with Bill H. and owe him their current job, how much help are they going to give you? Bob will help but there is something with eh sewer or water almost every week. Any one would be a fool to help out that much. Attend a Town Board meeting and see how often Bill H. asks or turns to Bob for answers to questions on matters. Bill H does not know the answer nor does s anyone else on the Town Board or the current employees.
When you are made president of a company, you have some experience in that filed. Not just a self-appointed chairman of a little group

I go to meetings and Bill H. has to be told how to run the meeting , the 2% tax cap is a joke , the board was told last fall at a meeting by the NOCCOG rep. that if they thought they would go over the cap the board needed to vote to override the cap , as far as the sewer/water their are people who can answer questions and there are state people paid to help , just vote in people smart enough to learn and not afraid to ask ...

Mr Snead, do you approve of what took place last summer at the Woodgate summer recreation program with the skinning of the mink? Would you have hired the same people back this year? What if any actions would you have taken with the employees responsible? Would you have allowed the firing of the young man for telling the truth?

I do not approve but there are over 500 post on Topix concerning the mink incident. That poor mink has died a thousand deaths. I do not intend to get involved with it. I don't want this forum to turn into another mink stink! Back to work......
