Yesterday on the way home from church we were driving past the Dutch Hill Ball Field and there were beer cans and bottles all over the place on the ground and on the bleachers. Has Scooters opened a "Field office" up there? We didn't know you can drink at games , do they sell beer there? Well , pick up the cans after the game!!

They do not sell beer at the field and there is no beer allowed in the dug-outs.

Well, is there a rule NO BOOZE on the grounds at any event there? I believe the cans and bottles were brought in by the fans.........and obviously, with the no beer allowed signs, it was not purchased at the field.
GOOD EXAMPLE WOULDN'T YOU SAY?

Put up signs, no booze!!
If fans bring it, they should drink it in their cars, and/or take their trash with them when they leave. If one cannot do without alcohol for the length of time it takes for a ball game, then they shouldn't come at all.

You can take the boy out of forestport, but you can't take forestport out of the boy, in effect; once a hick, always a hick. It even rubs off on the flat-landers from the utica area who have moved into the town many years ago. Most of these folks left their home towns under a cloud to hide in the woods of "punkieville". Arrrrrgh!

it all has to do with the low mentality of the slow pitch softball teams they are all just drunks that think they are still athletes GET over it you played little league and maybe some high school ball but if you were any good you would have played with guys like the trailblazers but no you play in a SLOW pitch softball league wow you are impressive Losers every one of them

So it's okay to booze it up at the ball field ? Yet another reason to clean house at town hall.

Why is everyone so quick to blame it on Scooters and people who live in Forestport? Who's to say it wasn't kids having a party or people who visited? People ARE slobs and it's not just some locals, it's also visitors who don't care or even think about someone else having to clean up their mess. It's all about caring and compassion for your fellow man and THAT seems to have gone to the dump on its own.

Put up signs..........I believe they did have some before when this all began. Post no drinking and then enforce it.
If someone can't go without a beer at a Jr. Baseball League, then they should not be there.
There was no problem with this a few years back. Just DO IT.......post signs and ENFORCE WHAT IS POSTED THERE.
tHE MANAGEMENT OF THE FOOD STAND SHOULD ALSO CLEARLY STATE NO ALCOHOL OR THEY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

wonder what the people up there think. It's a nice area on the hill. who would think a ball park would turn it into a seasonal slum. I went by the other day to and saw the that statue was back. So not surprised.Fitting place for it among the garbage.

who is making the no alcohol drinking rule, and who will enforce it?

is there a town ordinance? open container law?

so if someone leaves a soda can/water bottle will soda/water be banned as well?

you are wasting your breath. pigs will be pigs where ever they go.

It's just something to complain about, maybe the people crying should just pick them up and enjoy the .05 cents.

So some want to give the ball field a name ? Which Ball field ,the one by the church or the one on Dutch Hill? Pete worked on the field by the church a lot when it was refurbished around 2004. It seems a little odd that the timing of this is days before the election and also the fact that the Family was not talked with about this first. Nobody wants their Dead family member used as an election ploy. It would seem if anything like naming the field after someone, would happen in the spring when opening day is, and when there is actually forestport teams playing baseball, not election time when snowflakes are beginning to fall, makes you wonder about the intent.
