Does anyone know who was the designer/builder of the timber structure in the center of Prospect? Beautiful and unique!

Which one? The Union Park overlooking the gorge or the gazebo in the Village Park by the Methodist Church. I believe that Frank Doyle designed and built the gazebo in the Union Park and the Village Park gazebo came from a builder west of Rome, NY.

The gazebo over looking the Prospect Gorge is defectively built. The builder knew how to nail wood together but had no clue about basic structural engineering to know that diagonal braces are needed for every vertical-to-horizontal joint. If you spend any time under the gazebo you are putting yourself at risk that the temporary braces (been there since the moment it was built) don't give way. It's a top-heavy structure. The builder is a finish/decorative carpenter by trade and knows nothing about structures.
