I learned this evening that the Fairland Quarterback Club has been approved by the Fairland Board of Education to sell $50.00 tickets that will pay the holder of the ticket drawn a $20,000.00 grand prize. Someone please explain what the QB Club is trying to accomplish and who is in charge. No one I've talked to knows anything about it.

What will the proceeds raised be used for? When and where do they meet? Help us to help you by answering these questions. Thanks.

This sounds like the goals for the present Fairland Athletic Boosters. Except the QB Club will also support Fairland Youth Football League. I say leave FYFL out of your efforts. They make tons of money now and don't need outside help. Keep your money going to the schools ONLY.

Why is this club needed? I thought the Athletic Boosters did the very things that was stated as goals for this new club. How is it any different.

I was told that the QB club members spoke to the school board at the last meeting. They asked the board for their support and the board loved the idea of the new QB club. Isn't this true?

It still seems to be duplicating the long lived Athletic Boosters that has always done such a great job supporting sports at Fairland. Many are talking about a hidden agenda of this group. Hope it isn't true.
NEW WORLD ORDER

Lol. I doubt that there are any hidden agendas. In case you haven't noticed the Schools in Ohio are continually losing much needed funding. There have been a rising number of schools going to Pay To Play sports programs to cover these losses. Football is by far the most expensive sport for the schools but it is also the money maker that funds the rest of the sports. If this group is able to raise money to by equipment such as concussion minimizing helmets and new shoulder pads, that the school can't afford and the Athletic Boosters do not cover, then the school can spend there limited budget on their many other needs. I suggest you get off of topix and go to the next QB Club meeting and see what they are trying to do. Personally, I am happy to see some people in the community stepping up to help. Maybe everyone else should step up and do their part instead of looking for "hidden agendas" that do not exist.

Hidden agendas??? Are you serious???? If you take notice of those who are actually involved, those who have been working there butts off to raise money, those who go to the meeting each month to come up with new ideas for fundraisers...then you would KNOW that those involved love the sport of football, have played the game of football, have a child or children who currently play football, who are involved in the community, & back the football team 100%!! I suggest you take your hidden agenda to start rumors and trouble elsewhere! Ridiculous!

What fundraisers are you talking about? How much money is now in the treasurer of the QB club? We thought this club just started.

My money and efforts will go only to
the athletic boosters. There is only so much money to go around in the community and it shouldn't ALL go to football. The other sports are just as important. Support the Fairland Athletic Boosters and support ALL of our kids.

Anyone is welcome to start a club like this for each of the sports. A lot of schools around the nation have clubs just like this one to help individual sports out. I think its a great idea!

This has been needed for a long time. Many schools across the country have been doing this for years to help athletic programs with funding shortfalls. I am glad someone has stepped up to do it for our team. I looked at the FB page and know each and every one of the people involved. Honest, hard-working people that have always contributed to our schools.
