Taking away daily classtime from the middle school band students for band practice is not educationally sound. Reading, writing and arithmatic is the purpose of school. How about using precious classtime for academics.

Not everyone in the world is meant to be a math teacher or a piss collector. SOME people's true talents lie in music and the arts. Get a life.

Get theover it is all I can say. The students in band have flying grades compared to those who do not. Not to mention the kids love it, and the period it is in is for those idiots who didnt do their homework. So, saying that, a majority of the band students have done their work and have good grades or else they have to be out of band. The kids cannot stay in band with bad grades. Theres your answer, princess

Shucks. I was in the band and there are all kinds of things one can learn in there. Math, science, and reading are all taught in there. Plus, you have to know your alphabet up to g. Which is better than many.
