Yea I agree the store is badly run now. Can't get through the aisles because they have merchandise pulled out of the stock room to put on shelves and it's left sitting in the aisles blocking everything. The store is starting to look nasty again.

That store hasn't been ran right since it first opened and they had the petite blonde lady...I think her name was Heather. When she left,I quit shopping there and it has not been the same since. If she is still around, they need to hire her back. She was very well liked by everyone I know that shopped there!

I just wonder what the district thinks about this store? Why can't they see that the store is not being run right? The district manager must not be any better.

I haven't had any problems, if I had, would write the main office. They don't pay enough to keep good people.

I just love the way they have to stock shelves way back in the motor oil corner or elsewhere, while 3 or 4 people wait in line. I like to whistle real loud to get their attention. These kind of companies are increasing the pressure on workers. I call it having to do 7 things at once. Dollar store stock in general has exploded in value. I go there as seldom as possible.

I think the employees do a great job and feel bad for them. Most times they look short staffed and the store seems too small for all the things in it.

Family Dollar is just as bad, they are always outside smoking or on the phone or standing around talking to a friend. And all the employees look like they need a shampoo and shower !

I have never saw Dollar General Employees outside smoking----but, have had to wait at Family Dollar numerous times while the employee on duty is outside smoking and talking to their friends.

No, I have the right store... Yes its happened at family dollar as well.. My item at DG rang up wrong and the cashier yelled for the person in charge several times... I finally just left and when I did, there was the lady outside, pushing buggies and smoking

Yes I have had my items ring up wrong many times----and have walked out because the person in charge couldn't be located. This is the exact reason that I do not shop at the Proctorville DG anymore.

I agree, the first thing a company will do to save money is to cut payroll. Less employees but the couple of employees they have left they expect them to work wonders, doing 9 or 10 jobs at one time. And then there is no customer service and then no customers.

That is so true, and I have sent several email to the main company and never got a reply. And that is why they have very little business.

I don't blame the employees of these two stores. I blame management or the lack of. And the district managers because they have to see what is going on. I couldn't count how many times I went to family dollar and the cashier is outside smoking and no employees in the store. I bet their theft rate is out of this world. At one point they moved the tracphones from the front of the store to the office, they probably wouldn't have had to do that if the employees would stay IN THE STORE. I don't understand how they are still in business.

I use to go in the DG in Proctorville daily. In the last few months the store has gone down hill. I hate when I check out they say honey, sweetheart, sweety in every breath. The only person I want that said to me is my husband. Now that the weather is getting colder the workers park their car in front of store so they can go and smoke. You have to stand at the checkout and wait until they see you (sometimes from outside) before they will come up to check you out. The store is in need of a good manager and district manager. I have started driving a little farther and go to the store in Huntington or Crown City. I hope they read all these messages and turn the store back around as it was back in the summer. 3532
