No. She and her worthless "boyfriend" should have to personally care for the victim as long as he lives with the horror they imposed on him.

They should cook for him, clean for him, bathe him and take him places where his horror could be soothed away. They should not delegate or pay a surrogate for any of his care.

By doing this they should also serve their other victim, the mother of this poor man. Instead, they get to cough up a few bucks, "apologize" and go forth to sin no more?

She's undoubtedly one great actress. She first convinced her friends that she had been assaulted by this victim, then was able to lure him out two nights in a row to be beaten for something it seems he would have been incapable of in the first place.
Then she puts on an Oscar performance in the court room. WOW. Unfortunately it worked. The guys she lured into this are facing serious charges and prison time for buying into her story. She should be held just as accountable if not more so. This would never have happened if not for her lying trap. And she is only 16? What will we hear from her in the future? Scary....

Did she ever explain why she did this to her "best friend"? Why did she lie to lure him into a trap? I agree that this girl has very little chance of making it on probation. Also, who were the lawyers in this case? Backstrom was not the actual attorney who handled the case; I guarantee you that.

for your info..Backstrom is the prosecuting attorney for Dakota county..its up to him how criminals are charged and he chose not charge her as an adult and prosecute her...she got off way too easy

DAHN you are pig and I hope you violate your probation. The good thing for you is when you do the soft on crime judges in Dakota County won't send you to prison for 8 yrs because they will give you another break.

If this type of crime gets an 8 year stayed sentence you now all know how light sentences criminals get in this county. It is an invitation for criminals!!!!!

I can tell you one thing. I have been in the joint and these guys are gonna be livin a nightmare. The inmates don't take kindly to this kinda BS. They better watch their backs because if just ONE inmate has a brother or family member thats disabled and they find out what these punks did. I can guarentee they will get hurt. You don't mess with people that can't defend themselves. One word of advice. If you drop the soap have somone else pick it up for you. You will prabably will get "rushed" on anyways.

I don't care what her history is. She should not be get a break because of her upbringing. If this was the case, half of the cons would get reduced sentences. She is a piece of shi and should receive the 8 years for her part. If she was a black male she would have gotten attempted murder.

You all need to remember, this girl is only sixteen. Granted, what she did was very very wrong, if you had a child, would you want them in a prison? It was extremely wrong what she did, yes, but maybe a juvenile detention center until 18 would suffice. And dont get mad at the defense attorney. He was only doing his job, and thats to keep a person out of jail. Its what he gets paid to do, no matter the crime
