"You weren't alone." Ruben heard me say as we witnessed "the immensely moving" - "emotionally jarring reunion of the two childhood pals... as they learned they also shared un-Godly abuse at the hands of a priest. " --- THANK YOU RUBEN. READERS: If you or a loved one has been sexually abused by a priest, brother, nun, minister, rabbi, other religious or church employee - CALL LAW ENFORCEMENT and/or contact me for support and assistance to find the path to healing and recovery. As a fellow clergy abuse victim, who struggles everyday for survival, I agree with my brothers and sisters in suffering that, when it comes to the safety of children, we should never again let down our guard. The scandulous news from Rome of the past few weeks proves how far out of touch the Vatican is with the people in the pews. Unfortunately, we can never again trust those who make claim of direct representation to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The blood of thousands upon thousands of the sexually violated, ever suffering Children of our church has flowed for too long in the places where most of these crimes took place: Catholic churches, sacristies, school rooms, choir lofts, rectories, church basements and parked cars. And, indirectly, the blood of those children, myself included, is on the hands of those who could have stopped these terrible crimes against children and yet, did nothing; the bishops, archbishops, cardinals and even, the pope in Rome. These men will have to look for Divine absolution for the sins they've allowed to happen and the lives they've helped to destroyed. They will never receive forgiveness from me.

I have almost come to conclude that ALL CLERGY know what is going on. ALL CLERGY know who the good clergy AND the bad clergy are. They all live in a specialized network. They are quite like the mafia. What is needed is a "mole" to infiltrate this network and find out what's going on. It would be similar then to the CIA or FBI getting the inside scoop on the mafia. Then with that evidence, the fit would hit the shan, as the quote went in the movie, "Wag the Dog."

Otherwise, the abuse will simply continue. And we'll all just piss and moan here at topix or over morning coffee. This is obviously the most sacred of sacred cows to go after, otherwise the governments of all countries would go after them. And don't look for any change to happen within any church all by itself.

It happens so many times. Childhood school friends find each other after they realize that, as a kid, they were NOT the only one who was being sexually abused by their holy almighty priest. They were fed lies up on top of lies. A pedophile has many victims. To this day, there are many still suffering in silence because of their abuse while a kid. They are not alone, this has been proven time and time again. Such an emotional reunion for these two victims of abuse. The circumstances for their reunion is so very sad. But at least now they know that they were NOT the only one!!! peace... Judy Jones, SNAP Director Southeastern Ohio

If you follow a flock to bow to the volcano, be aware that it is your money being paid out to these victims. Your offerings. Maybe you could stone two sinners with one boulder. Start living your religion instead of attending and financing these houses of pedophilia. Do you need a roof to praise the deity of you choice? No offerings, no orgasnised church, no victims pool, no pedophile targets. Simple.

You said "They will never receive forgiveness from me". You being a abuse victim, I can appreciate your feeling. As a Catholic, your unwillingness to forgive means that you are allowing your abusers to still control you. It isn't worth it. It is in the past, it will be in your future only if you let it control you. Christ forgave you of your sins, you can forgive these Priests for causing you this grief. By forgiving you will be set free. It may take you a while to really forgive so start in little steps. Our Church needs to pray more for those who have been abused.

The Roman Catholic Church is the One True Church. With your paycheck as your membership dues, we'll provide crappy grape juice,
stale crackers (we save our money for pruposes greater than edible food for parishiners),
warp your kids into thinking they are drinking blood and eating flesh (therapy sometimes provided later in extreme caseS),
uber horny priest available to educate your kids on sex acts (this is not done as gratification, only to keep from embarrassing you talking about that dirty S word)--we believe it's best to just show them, rather than 'talk',
Expose your offspring to savagery you as a parent can't describe accurately in the right way without completely throwing your kids into a screaming fit,
We as a bonus relieve you as faithful followers of having to think about what you can afford, this perk means you can always afford more babies--just give up the car, home, running water, electricity, all just a small price to pay for recieving 'gifts of the Lord' and it helps our marketing. It's a two fold situation..
If you are extra good, our Priests having lovingly agreed to spend quality time with your kids so that by the time they reach puberty, they are already aware of what those changes mean to their bodies and will continue your legacy of breeding baby catholics. But, please read the fine print, a panel will acess your baby making history and determine how many successful Catholics you brought in to the world to determine if you are relieved from further breeding rights when your teen takes over.

I see that you have very little knowledge of the Catholic faith. You should study the teachings of the Catholic Church so that when you decide to post on the web, you can at least sound intelligent enough that people may actually believe you. I do have a question for you being that you rave about the sins of the Church. Do you have the same hatred for our education system. Please read the whole article as I am posting just a portion. Furthermore, Shakeshaft said that attempts by those in authority to conceal abuse, which caused such scandal in the Catholic church, may be evidenced within school systems. A 1994 study she did on disciplinary action against 225 public school teachers who admitted sexually abusing children in New York state found 15 percent were terminated and 25 percent received no disciplinary consequences http://natcath.org/NCR_Online/archives2/2004a... AND American Association of University Women Educational Foundation in 2000. Extrapolating data from the latter, she estimated roughly 290,000 students experienced some sort of physical sexual abuse by a school employee from a single decade—1991-2000....Such figures led her to contend "the physical sexual abuse of students in schools is likely more than 100 times the abuse by priests http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/...

“Total Power is the world’s illusion,” is a line spoken in dialog from “The Power and the Prize,” a 1956 movie nominated for an Academy Award but true nonetheless because it so aptly describes the archetypal figure of Roger Cardinal Mahony, Archbishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles, California. The use and abuse of power has brought the Roman Catholic Church to its present condition and it is also what keeps it unable to rise above it. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has paid out billions of dollars not only in settlements made on the eve of going to trial in numerous sexual abuse cases but also in lawyers’ fees, lobbyists’ fees, PR campaigns, Catholic Conference media blitzes and God only knows what else to obfuscate, to harass and to intimidate known victims of sexual abuse and their families. It also appears that many of those in church leadership positions like Cardinal Mahony still believe that they can exercise total power by the manipulation of the facts and the media. How many bishops, for example, support the removal of all statutes of limitation regarding the sexual abuse of children and direct their state Catholic Conferences to do the same instead of falsely accusing legislators of being anti-Catholic as has been the case in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, New York and Colorado. While I cannot say where this latest federal investigation will lead, any efforts at all that will force the files, records, correspondence or the like, that have anything to do with the conspiracy to cover-up the activities of rogue, sexually abusive clerics or bishops who used children, young persons or vulnerable adults for purposes of sexual exploitation, should be welcomed by all who seek the truth. To say, as a archdiocesan lawyer has said, that Mahony “has been at the forefront of dealing with” issues of clergy sexual abuse is an attempt to rewrite history and just more dis-information as records forced into the public venue by a brave Boston Catholic judge have already proven. Although numerous records and files have been ordered released by the Los Angeles court in the last few years, I understand that they have yet to be made public because the Archdiocese of Los Angeles continues to fight it. The revelations in the Archdiocese Boston forced the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to mandate that the bishops deal with the problem of sexually abusive clergy in 2002 instead of continuing their decades long pattern of covering them up. The bishops’ actions were not altruistic, they were compelled to act by public opinion. They were shamed into writing their guidelines. Cardinal Roger Mahony, like every other bishop in the United States was forced to act in establishing safe “environments for children in the United States,” by the USCCB because their actions were exposed. In other words, they were caught! Yes, programs and procedures have been put into place and in five or ten years they can be evaluated, not before. If Mahony’s comments that he “publicly acknowledged making mistakes in handling certain clergy accused of child abuse,” can be directly connected to the sexual abuse of even one child, he should be charged with reckless endangerment for putting that child in harm’s way and suffer the consequences. But at this point in time it has become obvious that because of the conspiracy that he has been a part of, he is probably guilty of much more.
