so glad to see this in the news. I love to see Joanna face some "justice" after all these years of pretending to be successful.

She cheated my company out of money she owed us. Payback's a bitch, Joanna.

Hey, that makes three of us... I will never forgive Joanna for her despicable behavior and fetid business practices.

Add another to the list. I was one of the victims of her scam as well. She took my money and didn't deliver. And I'm still trying to recover from it. From what I understand, there are possibly hundreds of us out there.

Having a small mind is in no way a useful tool. I wish all of you the best in gaining perspective on all sides of a situation before allowing yourself to abuse another individual and or waist your time in doing so.

Abuse another individual? We're victims of fraud... I trusted Joanna enough to invest with her. Her dishonesty has left me near destitute. Not a day goes by that I don't contemplate putting a barrel of a gun in my mouth and pulling the trigger... It might be easier to quit life, instead of trying to dig myself out of the financial hole Joanna has put me in.
How about that perspective?

It sounds like when you so "gaining perspective on all sides" that there must be another side to the story...or Joanna's side to the story, and that if I knew what that was, I understand better (sounds like something Joanna would say). However I respond to that by saying her side of the story was "allowing herself to abuse another individual, and or waisting my time by doing so"...would that be the perspective you speak of? The only other perspective i can think of would be the fake facade of success which she has lived most her life.
thats all

she built what could best be described as a multi-level marketing scheme and brought many people in to invest thousands of their dollars into being a part of the company. When these investors were shown the numbers prior to investing, well... let's just say the numbers turned out to be like something out of Dr. Seuss. She fraudulently cooked her books showing (and having printed and shown throughout the media - i.e. the Today show) millions of dollars in revenue. It wasn't until Anthos invested a tremendous amount that this was discovered and now hundreds of smaller investors are/were screwed.

A few related questions if you are willing to help me
with a little due diligence:

1 was her offering of securities Reg D exempt or not? And either way
Was she implicated in securities fraud?

2 what is the status of outstanding law suits?

3 what assets did anthos buy and for how much?

4 how much did she raise from individual investors (I'm assuming
there was no institutional money Pre anthos) and were they accredited?

Thank you

Multi-Level Marketing Scheme....Really, oh please. Regardless of all these accusations, somehow one of the investors, who may be posting on this site, seemingly happened to work on the numbers with her before presenting to Investors. Seems he would have know what was going on especially since he is a VC himself. They again since he turned on her after he was probably offered a better deal by Anthos to gain more interest by getting her out and stealing the idea.
And are you really telling me that a bit of due diligence on Anthos behalf wouldn't have also shown any troubling financial situations. However it seemed like part of their plan to hold back until they were able to have her sign un until they would pull the rug out from under her feet. I mean, are you really telling me that theses Harvard and Yale type Grads couldn't look at a few books to determine if the business really penciled......wow they better get new teachers!
So as for all that have participated in this post, if you were screwed out of a deal somehow, i would look at the Greed of the VC's involved. They are the ones who screwed everyone. This is a common thing in some of their worlds anyway right? Their not called "SHARKS" for no reason!!!
Still not convinced...funny how the new CEO claims he came up with the idea. WOW it seems to be more greed based behavior.....funny how these financial guys seem to work. Its so sad to have to lye about your success.....

I do want to end though by saying i do feel for all of you who were hit financially by this....Its sad, trust me i know your pain. But look at both perspectives, and who knows who is really right.....

As an update I took Joanna to court, she settled... We created a new contract to payback what was owed which, she (again) breached. Despite driving a Lexus, living in downtown SF, having a closet full of Louis Vuittons... She claims to be barely getting by. I'm sure she does just fine with her new job in the sex industry (seriously).

The fact that investors lost money on this venture is no different than any other investment they could have made. Joanna was 25, 26 at the time of this venture, and was na´ve in many of her dealings...granted, however, it was never her intention to deceive anyone. The fact is that Anthos accused her of interfering with SEC regulations with her investors. The SEC has cleared her of any wrong doing. The other fact is that Anthos "stole" the company from her. She didn't get one dime in the venture, and they continue to add insult to injury by denying her of being the founder of the company in all publicity. They have just sold the company to Nordstrom for supposedly $350,000. The reason these investors have no money from the investment is because of the fraud of Anthos, not Joanna. Had all things moved forward in an honest way, they would have loved this investment.
