my husband and i found a stray cat in our basement the other night and we have decided to keep her. I posted a pic of her on my fb and was told she is a himalayan. I dont know anything about cats so can someone help me. We love her dearly and want to know more about the breed.

She has probably ran off from someone's house himalayan cats are not supposed to be outside because of the risk of getting something in their eyes

It looks like she has had kitten and someone just threw her out. She has scratches all over her and she is skin and bones. As long as she is in our care she will never have to go outside again. She has a very loving home. Why do u have to worry a out getting something in their eyes do they have sensitive eyes?

It sounds to me she has been out "cattin" around. I don't want to sound weird here but check her nipples for milk ,if she does have milk she may have babies hidden somewhere.I would say the scrathes are from a male cat.I don't much about the breed.Cats aren't hard too care for let 'em eat & sleep & love them.Glad she has found a loving family.Let me know what you name her!

It is important to keep their eyes and faces very clean because they're prone to getting eye and sinus infection. Also, their teeth need to be cleaned by a vet at least once a year. Considering the poor condition of the cat you should take her to a vet,if you can, and get a complete work up done as well getting her spayed. It is a very nice thing that you have done, taking in that poor kitty and giving her a forever home.

We have checked her to make sure she has no milk. And thank goodness she doesn't. Our son has named her Nala after the lion king movie. Its his favorite and we take her to the vet next tuesday to get fixed. I have her a bath yd and she actually seemed to do ok. She didnt like it but she didnt try tk escape. I cleaned her face good as well as treated her ears for mites. We also wormed her and out flea meds on her. Our son is 2 and lasy night refused to go to sleep until he read her a bedtime story. It was precious. We can tell she is really young but we are.shocked at how well she does with our son.

I have a Himilayin cat I keep in my office. He has beautiful blue eyes that sometimes turn red. He has a lot of character and is a lot of company at work. I haven't had any problem with his eyes or sinus in the two and half years I have had him. good luck. they are great pets.

All cats are EVIL and should be destroyed! There you go. I just saved you years of cat food and Vet bills. They defecate in your house and you clean it up and feed them more. Mice and rats piss and crap in your house too, yet they are exterminated. Cat people are just plain fed in the head.

Poor thing looks like she has been starving for a while and looks pitiful. She is really young too. Cant be older than 1 year. And she the vet said she recently weined kittens.
