Find something else if possible, that is basically seasonal. He will be out of work in the winter time.

zignzag: Bullshit. That's where a lot of overtime comes in. You'll get called out a lot more. The job is seasonal, but you're rarely out of work when a season comes along. I'd still look for something better though.

My husband works for Asplundh and loves the work. They park their trucks over near the liquor store on US 19, behind a locked gate. If more information is needed I suggest the Asplundh website. And to whomever said you don't work in the winter, that's when the most over time comes. Ever heard of winter power outage? They go take the trees off of the lines, and wait for AEP to come repair the lines. Its a tough job, but most that work there enjoy their work. So when your sitting at home without power this winter remember to thank the lovely people at Asplundh and AEP for caring about humanity enough to come turn your power back on.

my husband use to work there and it sucked. they dont get paid enough he was a b trimmer one step away from a forman and still his pay wasnt great. Many there are on drugs, you wouldnt believe the stories. They will cheat you out of any money they can. im glad my husband got a btter job making twice the money he made there, really. his job now how better health benefits and life insurance and retirement. I would suggest going anywhere but there.

You are a moron. Yes, we get paid for the work, but you try working around the clock for two or three weeks straight, miss holidays, and special events with your family, and see what it's like. Last winter I was home one day in three weeks during Christmas and New Years. I can tell you that we do it not only for the extra money, but we take the resposibility of restoring customer's electrical service seriously. I do represent the company, and I'm proud of it, so it IS my company. You are a fool if you're ashamed of someone who takes pride in their work.

As an Asplundh employee in Colorado, I am not too thrilled with this job. I am a class B trimmer makin $14 hrly. I enjoy the work, but Asplundh is a company that thrives on intimidation and degradation of its employees; you will find it hard (in this state at any rate) to get raises, workman's comp, fair treatment, the most basic respect, or even safe equipment! The job will pay your bills provided your not trying to raise a giant pile of kids, but if you're not passionate about the work I recommend you go SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! And if you injure yourself on the job, you can absolutely consider yourself fired, beyond any doubt.

My brother worked for Asplundh until he was about killed by a tree. They pay terribly and they do not care about the rules, they just want the work done. I would never recommend anyone to ever work for that company.

My Husband works for Asplundh in Florida, It is a great compnay with good benifits. You are paid according to how you work and the attitude you have towards your work. My husband is the highest paid forman because he does what he is suppose to do. the company will pay you what you are worth. With that said they also have good health benifits along with retirement. He has been with them for 15 years and wouldn't change a thing. The only time we have ever seen a boss be tough on an employee is when they won't show up for work and when they are there they don't work. Also Asplundh has a safety team that comes down every few months to check on everything and if the safety rules are not being followed that person is fired, they take the safety of all employees seriously. Most times when you see some one complaining they were not a good employee and are out to hurt the company. And my husband has been injured on the job twice (about had his leg cut off with a saw and also had a hernia). the company covered everything and he received workmans comp in both cases. I wish you the best and hope you can see they are a good company. Also our brother in law works for them in Kentucky and he loves it.
