Tim got 30% of the vote. That wasnt' too shabby. Omar overkilled his advertising. So, I guess that's why people voted for him.

Tim would of made a great judge.

Luke, you must be dumber than dirt...only 30 percent? You call that not too shabby? That is pathetic...Omar won by over 40% more of the vote than Timm. Plus I didn't see Omar's commericals nearly as much as I had seen Timm's.
Timm blew it. He got spanked. He got smacked. And he got embarassed. The worst part about it for me is that I am a Timm supporter and I am disappointed that he did so poorly but I guess his message was not convincing. Omar clearly had the support of the masses and ran an excellant, campaign.
But Luke, you have to be nuts if you think this election was good for Timm. It was not and I am afraid that it may mean he will have an opponent for Prosecutor in 2012.

I DON'T KNOW. But food for thought.....

Maybe people believed Omar was ok to keep in office. And with Timm's criminal trial experience and incarceration rate, "maybe" people thought he would better serve doing what he's doing.
Below is an article from Telegraph.

Mercer County is fortunate to have Boggess and Aboulhosn serving us.
Bluefield Daily Telegraph

Just a word or two about the recent race for the 9th Judicial Circuit Division III judgeship. It was reported that Judge Omar Aboulhosn was the winner of that race. I beg to differ. The people of Mercer County actually came out on top of that one. What I mean is, by Omar receiving more votes than Timm Boggess, we have exactly what we had before; an outstanding prosecutor and an equally outstanding judge. Either outcome would have been a plus for the 9th Circuit, but I believe the status quo is even better.

It is a rarity in the political arena when the people are presented with two stellar candidates such as Omar and Timm and I have to believe that anyone who knows these fine men must have had a tough time deciding who to vote for. I had to recuse (yes, legal eagles, pun intended) myself from that particular race due to the fact the choice was so difficult. Mercer County is fortunate to have these gentlemen serving us and we should take the time to be appreciative of that. They could have left for so-called greener pastures like so many others, but they chose to stay.

Omar and Timm give to this community each and every day. When you see them, remember that and be thankful. Omar, I offer my congratulations and best wishes. Timm, stay put for now my friend, I believe bigger things are on the horizon. To you both, a heartfelt thanks for your love and dedication to our city, county, and state. Two more reasons Iím proud to be a West Virginian.

No. People voted for him because he was the best person for the job. He spent his own money and did not take donations. I promise you Timm spent much more money on advertising, probably 2 to 1. In politics 70 - 30 is a clock cleaning just like 50-0 in football.

How do you know he's the best person for the job?

How do you know he's not?
You stated he won because of more advertising.
That is nowhere near the truth.

Tim was my choice and he is a man of his word. I also think there is something bigger and better for Tim. He would have been a much better judge.

Everyone look, omar is a lier! One, if he didnt take donations, how was everything payed for by the "friends of omar"??? Think about it. Everyone that voted for omar made a horrible mistake! What do you see in him?!?! He is two faced!! Timm just has bigger and MUCH BETTER things in his future! He has worked hard for what and where he is at now and I'm proud of him! Omar, everything dirty and immature things you have done towards Timm will come back to bite you! Timm ran the clean race and is the most professional! I love you Timm and don't worry about these people! They all are jealous of you! I am proud of you! Keep working hard!

Omar's campaign was above-board - he did not engage in dirty politics and he ran a clean campaign as well. Timm lost, get over it.

I'm not too sure Pastor Hurt endorsing Omar on TV wasn't against the Law. It's against the Law for Preachers to be political.

Bull!! Omar played dirty!! I honestly do not see what you guys see in omar! There is nothing special about him! Timm would have made a wonderful job as judge and is doing a great job now! I know the truth and pray everyone will see the truth one day! I think we all need to stop all this! This is between omar and Timm!

Luke...show me where in the law that it says ministers lose their constitutional rights? It doesn't...ministers have every right to support who they want to, as long as they don't do it from the pulpit, it is proper for a minister to have political beliefs. You need to get a life.

As for Believer in Timm...what dirty and immature things are you referring to? I never heard Omar say one single thing about Timm, his campaign focused solely on his qualifications and his community service work. His website is still up and can be viewed. Also, Omar did not lie. His campaign finance forms are a matter of public record and can be viewed at the Courthouse. He has not taken one dollar of donations from anyone. Just because the name of his committee is Friends of Judge Omar does not mean that he took contributions. If anyone is lying it is you for making up this stuff.

Lets talk about whose campaign was honest and above board: Omar listed down his activities and qualifications and NEVER once said anything about Tim. However, Timm's campaign was about trying to distort and lie about Omar's record as an attorney. You can't fool the electorate. That is why Omar got 70% of the vote. He is well liked by the vast majority of the public because he has done good things to make this community better.

His good deeds came back to him in the way of votes. Timm's attempt to downplay Omar's good deeds and accomplishments as a lawyer and Judge were soundly rebuked by the voters of Mercer County.

Bottom line, Timm is doing a good job as the prosecutor and the folks decided for him to stay there. They also believed that Omar is doing a great job as a Judge and they decided to leave him there.

So "Believer in Timm" prove that Omar did something dirty and immature. Name names. Name incidents that you can prove that Omar did something Dirty and Immature. Don't just hide behind innuendo.

I didn't read your novel, but 501(c)3 churches aren't allowed to endorse any candidate.

The Pastor is not a 501(c)(3) the church is. The Church as a church did not endorse anyone. The Pastor did, but that is not the same. You have to be a few bricks shy of a full load if you don't know the difference. But based on other things you have written, I can tell you are delusional and an IDIOT!!!

I said "I'm not too sure." Which means, I fully don't know. I know a pastor behind the pulpit can't endorse any political candidate.

Not too sure about the Pastor on his own.

Be worth checking, don't you think??
