I was at pch not too long ago to use the men's restroom thats out front the main entrance and i was suprised how nasty that restroom was. There was toilet paper in the floor, trash can was running over with trash and you could tell the restroom wasnt cleaned in a couple of hours. Plus there is other places in the hospital that looks like it hasnt been cleaned all that good like the ER, whats happened to the housekeepers at the hospital. I remembered back in the day when i worked at the hospital how clean that placed stayed, now its not like that. I remembered at one time they had one hell of a good housekeeping crew down there, now its not like that now. Seems like the older housekeepers are gone either they retired or they dont work they anymore. They need to do a better job on keeping that place clean, its ashame hospital is'nt cleaned like it used to be if you go in there not sick chances are your gonna come back out sick.

I toatally agree with you. Hospitals are suppose to be clean and sanitized. I can't believe they let it get as nasty as they do. Nothing gets done about it though. You always see a housekeeping employee with their mop bucket and such, but you never see them doing anything but pushing it around.

I couldnt agree with you more, the past few years the hospital is'nt as clean like it use to be. Tha ts probly why there's alot of people that end up getting sicker while they are in there for their stay. Maybe everyone needs to complain to the main boss thats over the hospital about the housekeeper's not doin their job, i've seen some housekeeper's down there that act like they do their job but they dont do it and i also seen some that like to flirt with everyone that works down there. If most of them would put an effort in getting their job done that hospital would stay clean all the time.

The nastiest part of PCH are the people that crowd in there 24/7 trying to get drugs. If they could get rid of the addicts everything else would correct itself. You have people going into the rest room that have never seen indoor plumbing before and they don't know how to conduct themselves inside.
I was there recently for xrays and lab work and everywhere that I went was immaculate and the people super nice.

If you knew the volume of people who are in and out of those front bathrooms daily you would understand how easy it is to walk in there and see it in such a mess. The PCH housekeepers are on the ball as much today as they ever were but the size of the housekeeping crew has decreased over time while the size of the hospital has not. The housekeeper assigned to that area checks that bathroom regularly and cleans it thoroughly several times each day. You would be surprised at the number of visitors who leave messes in the bathroom on purpose.

I agree with the 1st 3 comments, the last time i was in that hospital you can tell they dont keep it clean like they used too. When i had kidney stones i had to go through the waiting room to get checked out and when i had to walk to go back to the ER the floor had a sticky residue on it and the ER room that i was in looked liked it wasnt cleaned all that good, that tells you something right there. I also liked the 3rd comment that said that the housekeepers act like they do their job and they also flirt with everyone that works down there. That's a fact, when i used to work at that hellhole i would see some of the younger housekeepers flirt with the doctors and some of the male staff employees that work there instead of doin their damn job. So that tells you something, when your working at a job like that not supposed to fart around and not do a half ass job on cleaning that hospital. Goes to show that some people get away on not doing their job right down their.

Our housekeepers at PCH WORK hard to keep up with the pace of a busy place with less staff. If you want to complain do so to the top level people and stop bashing them on here. Yes there are some employees who don't pull thier fair weight when it comes to some jobs. But overall they do the best they can with the limited staff. Maybe if they didn't outsource landscaping they could hire more in house staff who could keep up with the pace and keep the place cleaner. Go to board meeting and voice your concerns but please don't bash the staff.

I agree don't bash the help they do have. The problem stands with the supervisor not willing to hire more help. The people are over wrked and under payed for what they do. Many are forsed to wrk double shifts to make up for the extra help they don't have. Maybe if Fred would worry more about hiring the help needed instead of sucking his bf off evernight the hospital would get cleaned the way it should be and the workers that are there doing their best can get sum rest

well I guess all of you think that that all they have to do is rest room you should walk around with them and see all of the department that they have to do it not as easy as you think i tell you one thing they have no time to wast you do good to get every thing done they give you enough so you dont have time to look up so the way i see it you dont work so that all you have time to do is complaim about some one

At least these hardworking employees have a job. But like a few postings- why bash them? having worked in a hospital it is very hard work regardless when you work in the lower paid service depts and everybody wants this and expect it immediately. If undercover boss or what would you do tv came in they would probably recommend that upper management be replaced. Sure the hospital has to survive but you can't keep low rating your employees and some managers to do it. PCH use to be such a family oriented place where everbody cared and helped out regardless of status. They have to get back to that also. Can't blame that on the Obama. Maybe the next time you go to hospital tell an employee that they are doing a good job and if you see one that is rude---report them regardless of what their position may be(and there are some who think they are above others)
