I think Campestre has better quality ingrediants. El Jaripeo is good too and their staff is really friendly. They remember you by name and even your preferences. I eat at both regularly.

of course it's between the slightly upscale Campestre vs. the slightly casual El Jaripeo

Well, Jaripeo has little bugs in the laminate on some, if not most, of the tables. The salsa varies in goodness, but is usually on the better side than the competition. The manager and wait staff are friendly. The quality of their beef and chicken are questionable, as the chicken is sometimes blue looking, and beef is sometimes laced with yucky chewy fat. I do NOT recommend their fajitas at all (especially the steak, which is gristly and hard to chew).

Campestre's employees all wear the same dress Polo shirts, usually a different one every day. You get seated pretty quick, and although the salsa is inferior, the "white salsa" dip is signature to their restaurants, and the reason that I usually go. They sometimes chintz you out of some extra bucks, like waiting until after 3 to bring you your check, so they can charge you an extra dollar for lunch, or charge you for a to-go drink. They use beef tips, instead of shredded beef, which makes their stuff hard to chew. They also started undercooking their veggies for fajitas and similar dishes, so they are not caramelized, and almost raw.

Overall, I usually pick Campestre, as I love the "white salsa". I just have to watch what I order, as they undercook my favorite dishes consistently now. I try to special order and ask the waiters to have it "cooked extra" or "blackened/negro", but they just look at me like they don't understand English at all.

I was tired of both of these places and was driving to La Fiesta over in Bluefield, as their salsa is superior (but hot)...but my last experience or two left me disappointed by the service. At least they serve Coke products, unlike the others, which serve Pepsi.

I think I'll just get some Taco Bell next time I want Mexican.

I had been loyal to Campestre for years, but I tried El Jaripeo a couple of weeks ago with my husband. We both agreed that the food was better, so we will be making some repeat visits I am sure.

if you go to La Fiesta, you better hope that big guy Omar is your server

if not, you'll be lucky if they even check on you for refills or anything like that

my favorite part of La Fiesta is looking at the female's butt that works there...her name is Mari Cruz, I believe. Real nice Mexican rear end. Very nice.

Campestre had excellent food, great service, and delicious margaritas.

El Mariachi had great service and wonderful food at a good price.=)

Campestre' gets my vote! The service is consistently good. The restaurant is always clean, the food never disappointing, and the servers present well in their color coordinated shirts/black slacks. La Fiesta is ok for a quick lunch, but is not even in the same league as Campestre'.

It's very simple about their service. No refills, slow service equals NO tip!

El Mariachi let druggies and boozers kill their business in Princeton.

I try different dish each time I visit campestres. and never have I had an undercook veggie, I speak english to them and they understand perfectly. I find it odd that you would go to a resturant that you do not care for and only for their white salsa.
el Jaripeo is closing. but there will be a new mexican resturant opening in Princeton.....hoping you stay in bluefield

UR dumb. Go ask the manager Jorge at Jaripeo and he'll personally tell you that they are moving to the Princeton Kroger Plaza by the end of next month. Shows what you know.

you can't say "hands down" without having tried the other place.

It's behind Long John's, beside the liquor store.

But opinions will vary. I do like Campestre's too. But one of my new good friends likes Texas and doesn't like Outback, and I'm the total opposite! So you never know, but I'm glad that God made us all to be a little different, so the world keeps turning round
