First off, I understand the importance of such a topic, I just think that's something way too important too be listed on this bs site, u can cause a lot of harm to someones personel life by opening the door to this site. If someone hurts someone call the police, watch here comes the drama

i am strong in my opinion in not hitting a female no matter what they should never be hit... as for so sad i am a guy who lost the love of his life and im sure she feels the same way as you but i would want her to know that i still love her no matter what the past i would tell her its all about the future

i came from several abusive relationships and to this day it makes it hard for me to completely open up to my current boyfriend because of my trust and insecurity issues i came from bad marriage where he beat me within an inch of my life and i watched my mom go thru it my entire life i think this honestly isnt a bad idea as long as names arent bein put on here it allows victims and survivors the chance to talk with others and get advie especially when the police dont do anything to help

Some men (and women) are just as abusive, if not worse, emotionally and verbally. Treat those you are supposed to love better, people!:(

I'm female, but I say if shes dumb enough to hang around after the first time, hit her a little harder the next time! Maybe it'll knock some since into her!!! No excuse for dealing with that BS from any man!!

What determines mental and emotional abuse? I have never been beaten or hit. But emotionally and mentally speaking I have been abused I believe. My man trys to keep me from friends (which I have few of because of him). He doen't like for me to be close to my family. Everytime I have anything to do he gets mad because he isn't the center of attention. Would this be considered abuse?

That IS abuse, anytime a man tries to control you it's abuse, and it only gets worse. Been there, done that. They start by cutting off your relationships with other people so that by the time that start putting you down or beating the shit out of you, you feel like you have nobody to turn to. RUN LIKE HELL!!

U call it being abused? Don't know ur situation but maybe just maybe, some men actually prefer the woman in his life to be his life and and him not just be an option to u wen u need money, or somethin done that the people u spend ur time with wont,. If u dnt love the guy leave him, if u do then grow up n make ur family ur priority, u know like adult women do...

Well i just wanted to say. I was in a abusive relationship for 2 and a half years just got out of it a month ago. i had broken up with him like 9 times and i always went back cause i was wanting to be the nice guy even though he was very mean to me. finally i met someone and he showed me house much of a prick this guy was. if i knew it was as easy as it was i would of left a long time ago.... but we all just sometimes have to figure it out the hard way and take it till we have had enough. but if ur in a adbusive relationship i would get out of it while you still can... i had also started a post on here about a year ago worndering what i could do... and get advice. but no since in advice cause ppl are not going to do anything till there really and sick of the crap... (my post was what would you do if ur man.... just wanted to stick that out cause i know i was scared......better now and happier then i have ever been, and i have two kids and your would not believe how much they have changed knowing there mommy and daddy r not fighting anymore... its like 2 different kids. but i never seen that was hurting my kids i still dwell over it.......thank God for 2nd chances..

My family is my life! I don't think I should have to choose time with my children over him - and by the way they are also his children. He should want to spend time with us as a family. He chooses not to. As far as money, I am the bread winner in this relationship! So it's not BS!

Your children will grow up to be just like the two of you. They will act just like mommy and daddy. If you have a son, he will grow up doing what daddy did to his spouse. If you have a daughter, she will grow up taking abuse from her husband because mommy did. Think of your children and get the Hell out. Teach them that this kind of behavior is WRONG. Parents just dont get it. Children learn bad things from them as well as good.
