Before I read the stupid article, I said to myself, "this has LORI MCKINNEY written all over it"...and sure enough, she's behind this; another countless step in her quest for some kind of recognition in the Princeton area. I laugh every time I pass her sign that says "Art Gallery Open". I won't be negative here, other than my prediction that the results will speak for themselves.

Except that Lori will put some kind of sensationalist spin on the whole matter. At least we aren't being force fed that Option 22 bull malarkey faux hippie noise pollution anymore.

Ah, the McKinney sisters.
They're going to put Princeton,WV on the map.

Lori is trying to make Mercer Street more presentable for all the major media networks that will be coming to town when one of Melissa's students wins Americas Got Talent or American Idol.

Just wait, you'll see.
It has been foretold by the spellcaster.

meanwhile, they will fake it til they make it, and just pretend and live out the fantasy that this is some big bohemian style artsy fartsy college town where you either drink wine while looking at art exhibits, wear tie dye skirts regardless of your gender, or relax at *insert obvious name here* Coffee Shop while listening to all the great local musicians...

Yeah those damn McKinney sisters ought to sit on their asses on the computer all day and talk shit about people instead of trying to make a difference in their community. Isnt that what being an american is all about? Sit around an complain about everything but do absolutely nothing about it? You guys are fools! Just because someone extinguished your dreams doesn't mean other people should quit dreaming to. I wish you people had the balls to put your names on here. And back up all the bullshit you say.

I am amazed at the nonsense of "haters". What I comprehend from the post like the one above regarding Lori and Melissa McKinney is that there are alot of jealous people in Princeton. I do not live in Princeton, but am there on a regular basis because I choose to come there even several days a week to bring my children for lessons at Stages. Who are you to say that an American Idol cannot come out of Stages? It may be my child or any other of the extreme talent that comes out of there. I have been to other music schools and my child has never been mentored, taught or given the recognition to be the musician she wants to be until we found stages. I drive 1 hour or more weekly for this. LORI is my youngest daughter's drum teacher and she has successfully brought my shy child to singing while drumming. This is out of her passion for music and art, and the positive reinforcement thst she provides to my child. As far as the art murals and reclamation of Mercer Street. Why or how can anyone complain about someone being so passionate about their city (their hometown) that they are trying to make a difference? This is beyond me. Lori and Melissa, remember that haters are gonna hate regardless. Your lights are shining bright for those that it matters too! Keep up the good work.

We drive to Beckley once a week to eat at Olive Garden.
There's a better chance of a future American Idol or America's Got Talent winner coming from Olive Garden.

If someone's laughing at the ridiculousness of a sign or business, wherein do you see misery?

Ok. Ok. Next time my dad buys a bunch of crappy property on Mercer Street, I'll open up some ART related businesses, no matter how preposterous. Since the musical performing arts and painting visual arts are already taken by such great business owners, the next time good old Dad purchases buildings on Mercer Street, I'll be sure to open up (let's say) a dance studio, a sculpting school (complete with whittling courses), and TOP NOTCH actor's guild.

Does this satisfy your chivalry?

But I want full coverage in the Bluefield Daily Telegraph AND a cover story in the Princeton Times so that I can have my moment in the sun as the laughingstock of Princeton!

Apparently exercising freedom of speech to tell the truth isn't fashionable anymore (but it was my attempt to make Princeton a better place); for, you see, one must remain "positive" and support inferior artistic endeavors. Oh well, if you can't beat 'em join 'em.

Let's get sold out down the river and pretend to have our potentials fully engaged, while we ignore the reality checks granted by our critics!

All critics have miserable faces!! Go away!!!!

I'm sold on being a McKinney clone! Thanks!!!!!!

As the winner of a spelling bee, I must now present your word. Spell R-E-A-L-I-S-T-I-C.

If you make it to the next round, I hope you can spell C-R-I-T-I-C.
