I hope you don't depend on them to actually help you out if needed! They act like your bothering them when you call for help. It's a shame!!

The individuals that work at the 911 center have a very mentally stressful job. The general public do not realize what those employees go through. They have to keep up with their agency (Fire, Ems, Princeton City/Bluefield City Police/County Police and the State Police. While they are communicating with them they are also on the phone dealing with the callers thoughout the county. No one at that center minds to help anyone in need... however, what people do not understand, there can be more serious issues going on at that time of your call. You do not know what is going on the county. Now, granted there are one or two up there who are terrible telecommunicators and are extremely rude... and it would not hurt for them to be replaced.... but... that'll never happen... Just give them a break, you don't know what its like to hear someone die on the phone, or hear someone being burned alive....

Wow that is quite horrible to hear of people dying on the other end and you can't help them. You definetly have my respect. Its one thing to be in the ems field and you are trying to save them and they die but its another when you are on the phone and all you can do is bring them comfort during their last moments.

People if you are calling over bs (non-emergency) call the back line. Let someone who is in serious condition of need for ems have the urgent line. Be respectful I am sure you wished someone didn't tie that phone up just to report a snake is in their home while you are the one having a stroke and can't get through.

I had called 911 many of times for varies reasons. I will never forget the man who stayed on the phone with me when I was in distressed until the cop arrived...I also called over minor things of reporting someone dropped something on the road and glass is all over the place and it's in a curve. I got one of those smart a$$ women up there. Don't tell me who's job that is. All I need to know is you will take care of it and thank me for possiby preventing serious injury. When you deal with the public, if that person don't need to know it or it will just make a worse of a problem. Don't tell them, you handle it and let it go. You don't need to waste your time.

Also, those that are rude to you. You are probably what we call a frequent flier, otherwise they can predict the next event they will have to deal with you again. In those cases yes, they will lose there patience with you because you have no life then bugging someone to get noticed. Overall NOTHING is wrong with you, but you sure did tie a ambulance up when only planned 2 are running all the calls and the rest are doing long transports. Someone is going to die but hey it wont be you. No I do not work in the ems field. Am fully aware of what goes on though. Also, its bad when 911 knows your name considering they haven't met you but just by how often you call and even recognize the voice and number before you say your name. If you are that lonely hire someone to sit with you. Stop wasting important people's time.
