So, did the troublemakers show up (JR? TW? and parents?)? I'll bet they were the first ones in the building...haha!

I'm sure that they were there, after they found out that nobody gave a rats ass if they were there or not. They just needed to make sure that they got themselves a little extra attention.

If there were students that had a problem with holding their graduation in a church the school should have a ceremony at PVHS in the gym for just those students, friends, and families. Why not hold a separate ceremony for the ones that don't want to graduate in a church. Let them have their separate ceremony in a hot uncomfortable gym with friends and family. I hope all the graduates, family, and friends had a wonderful evening!! God Bless the graduates and their families...wish them the best!!

How about this, the parents that want their kids to pray and graduate in a church they need to send their kids to a christian school. Last time I checked Pikeview is a public school. What they are doing is against the law. Take your small minded christians views else where. Please understand not everyone worships the same god as you do and it isn't fair to those students.

not everybody loves gay porn as much as you, but you still go around putting it in everybodys face. Maybe you should move to San Francisco.

That is a mature come back. I am pretty sure you have no idea who I am. I am not a big fan of gay porn. San Francisco is nice but I don't have any plans to move there. Thanks for asking. Next time put more time into your come back. Have a nice evening.

This was a high school graduation and not a church service.
The problem of where it is held is and was irrelevant.
Thank goodness the church was available to house the graduation ceremony.
This IS about the special time for the graduates, afterall.

And I would be thinking the small minded views are not explicitly held only by Christians as evidenced by reading your post.

I dont drink, but I can go to a place that serves alcohol and not be offended.
I dont usually curse, but, I can go to a public mall or outing without having to stand in protest while someone else does. If I am offended I simply walk away.
I dont smoke, yet when someone around me does, I simply move away.

Maybe you can take a hint.

Not a comeback. I was just stating a fact. You love gay porn! Mainly older men ages 55 to 70 with boys ages 18 to 22. It's ok I'm not judging you, just don't put people down.

I am a female. I share my life with a great guy and don't really have a need for porn straight or gay. Try again..

You still dont get it.
The church was offering a place for the graduation.
No one had to attend church or give in an offering.
Your beating your drums over nothing.

So...theoretically, a church sponsored outing is on the lake...a school sponsored trip lands a child out in the water. The child is drowning and the church boat is there. Separation of church and state? Obviously NO...its do the right thing.
That is all that happened here.

Ok so if I am wrong tell me why they could be taken to court over this? Narrows high school have been in court since 2011 because of not following separation of church and state. This is not me just beating drums over this as you would put it. No sense in trying to talk to people like you it is a waste of my time. It isn't fair to people that follow other faiths this should be a time everyone can feel comfortable. It isn't about non believers because myself as a non believer would find it funny me standing in a church because it means nothing to me. Jesus is on the same level as santa, he isn't real. It is unfair to people of other faiths and that is why I am against it. Everyone has a right to worship how they want and no one should be made uncomfortable at such an important time by the building or the prayers said. As I said before you will only see it your way just as everyone else in the area who think there is only one god so I am done. Talking to you is a complete waste of time. I highly doubt Pikeview will ever hold it at Church of God in the future since there have been people contacted and they are looking at legal action.

You are still missing the point.
It is a BUILDING....the building was offered to hold a graduation,, nothing more. Stop looking for ghosts in houses not haunted.
There was no church service held. Get over it! I never said ONE THING about the religious side of this so re-read my text as you simply missed that point altogether.
Narrows is a different story altogether.
You should really read that statute you are harping on instead of just quoting it.

Talk to people like me?????? Are you serious????? You have the mentality of a gnat if you want the truth about it. It should be me saying that to you.

You still dont get it and from the text of your conversation, you never will. Talking to me IS a complete waste of time for you because I have something called COMMON SENSE and it is obvious you dont. Legal action??? Gimme a break.

High School Graduation Ceremonies Can Be Held in Church, Say Judges

September 12, 2011 By Hemant Mehta 33 Comments

On Friday, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 (PDF) that public high schools holding graduation ceremonies inside churches were not violating the Establishment Clause and church/state separation.

“There is no realistic endorsement of religion by the mere act of renting a building belonging to a religious group,” Judge Kenneth R. Ripple wrote for the majority.

… Graduates weren’t forced to participate in any religious exercise, Ripple wrote. As for the religious environment, the U.S. Constitution doesn’t shield someone from encountering others’ religious beliefs and symbols, he said.

“The encounter with religion here is purely passive and incidental to attendance at an entirely secular ceremony,” he wrote.

A bunch of people who will never matter in the big scheme of things. Can't fit in, won't fit in and will never be praised as the GODs they would have the world think of them as. Anybody can go to court, you just have to make the complaint. This case would have already been in court if it had a leg to stand on.

you idiot no one was there to preach to these students or try to save them, they just borrowed the church for an activity. seperation of church and state means when you are using a public place to push your religious views.that was not the purpose of this gathering. they were lucky that the church was so kind and generious.

You might also like to know that if there are any prayers said during the graduation then it is entirely at the student's discretion. The faculty in no way asks them to do so. It's amazing at how every effort is made so that the separation crowd can fit in without being offended but they just don't see it. If I were in charge I'd fire off some good comments just for agitation.

Whatever "faith" you are, it obviously doesn't carry much weight or be respected because it just got ran over by the church bus on the way to the graduation ceremony at the (you guessed it) CHURCH!!!!
LMAO !!

Suck it, loser !!!
