I knew Gary and went all through school with him. He was my nurse at PCH a few times when I was admitted. I want to tell all of his children and each family member how very sorry I am for you loss. He was a great man to be around and will be missed. We never know when we will have a heart attack no matter how much we work out. His family is in my prayers that God will give them strength.

He was a great weight trainer as well as a friend. The fitness center will not be the same in the evenings. Gary was a great motivator there to me and many others over the years. I am deeply saddened by his passsing. I am praying for his family throgh this hard time.

If this is the Gary that worked at ResCare then I am so sad! He was always smiling & trying to make you smile. He loved his kids too. Samantha & Michael stay strong! God only brings us home when he truly needs us.

I am sorry, it is the same person. He worked for PCH for 18 years and six months. He was a LPN. He was presently working for rescare.

I was looking over his facebook also and he had just been on 11 hours before he died. He was working and passing out meds. he said he didn't feel good. A coworker offered to pass out meds and let him go home. He said he would be all right. He finished his shift and went home. He was found yesterday morning. They said he had a massive heart attack. I am sorry for his precious children and everyone that loved him.

You mean they never bothered to do an ekg? i am not in the medical field but even i would have known to do an ekg. i don't think they can stop a massive heart attack. i could be wrong though. i no u and all his coworkers will miss him. my heart is broken for his family also.

An EKG alone will not always confirm a Heart attack. Cardiac Enzymes being elevated along with the complaint of chest pain, the physical appearance, medical history and the EKG are only tools. Have you ever heard of a "silent MI" ????
People that worked with Gary liked Gary. That includes the very Doctors that saw him for his GERD and the very ones that tried to resuscitate him when he suffered his cardiac arrest..
Gary will definitely be missed. He was very compassionate to his patients and even with one eye, was one of the best IV stickers that I ever had the privilege of working with.
Lets honor his memory, mourn his passing, but not automatically pass judgement that the medical folk screwed the pooch and caused his death!
