everyone here needs to learn respect. if you dont have nothing nice to say, then dont say it at all.
so if you are able to type on here that means you are able to get on the internet, which means you have power, which means they are out in the weather risking their lives so you had power. everyone calls these companies to do nothing but complain. but i wonder how many would call them when they get exceptional service, or just to thank them for doing what they do for, me, and YOU!!!!

first of all their customer service is also referred as ddc..which also has all the lineman safety ..so yes they can't just answer phone their directing their lineman to safety to restore power b hazardous conditions ...

when you call to report a outage it goes to a call center not directly to a lineman. Another thing i might add is that during situations like this one alot of the people out in the field who are supposed to be restoring power are mostly at waffle house or shoneys or some place like that. Because the communication between home office and the men out in the field is just plain sorry. I know because I did it for 8 years. Call center is instructed to IGNORE ALL CALLS during times like this. Dont believe me, then wait till this summer on a nice day and call to report a outage and i gurantee you will speak to a real human being.

I just called about an apartment building a friend of mine owns here in Princeton, because of an elderly tenant. The Park ave area is without power and they gave me an estimated time of restoration of Fri Feb 24 at midnight. I was more than a little surprised at this because I thought that population centers would take priority. I hope its faster than that.

At 10:00 A.M. this morning the Bluefield Daily Telegraph reported that 45 % of Mercer County is without power. Each one of that 45% expects immediate attention and unfortunately it will not happen. I think that they do an amazing job at times like these. There are just some people that need something to whine about, they're probably not near as prompt at paying their utility bill.

well guess things have changed if u worked for aep..cause it's calked staging areas their bit out eating..they get boxed lunches that r cold ..they don't have time to eat..they work sixteen hours a day n storm efforts like these away from their family. Calls aren't call centers ...the people helping the lineman n the home office r reachable by their lineman

Stop fussing! They are doing their best and working harder then many of us who does work. Reasons why they get at least 60 hrs easy in overtime and always on call. Am sure they have everyone of their employees working day and night and going without sleep and are cold and wet to get the power on. No one is thankful of power until it goes off and you are fast to b*tch. I for one thought about getting into becoming a lineman, however with my work hours and the college classes does not work to well so I can't. Knowing what I do now about their jobs, what they do, what little sleep they get, and the hours they put in. I will say they are one of my biggest heros. So shut up or why don't you go to New River college in Ghent and become one then maybe you will understand a lot more about power then what you do now! Then you might make damn sure the power don't go out since you know all about this and what its like to go without.

I STARTED THIS TOPIC FOR THE SOUL REASON THAT I CALLED AEP 32 TIMES AND NEVER ONCE SPOKE TO A HUMAN BEING! MY ELDERLY FATHER HAS NO POWER AND IS COLD AND DOESNT WANT TO LEAVE HIS HOUSE ALONE CAUSE HE IS AFRAID THAT SOMEONE WILL STEAL EVERYTHING HE HAS! NOT ONCE DID I COMPLAIN ABOUT PEOPLE WORKING IN THE FIELD! FOR ALL THE INCREASES THEY ASK FOR AND FOR HOW MUCH WE PAY FOR POWER I WOULD EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK TO A PERSON AND NOT A STUPID MACHINE! SO PISS OFF LOVELY AND ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS A PROBLEM WITH WHAT I SAY! AEPS CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!
