I am also a member of the moose and it is nothing but drama the kids partys are alrighty they were better but are going down hill fast. All the moose is about is drama and it is all in the office part of the moose. Especially the womens part. As for decent people they are very very few of those and I think they only bring their kids to the kids partys. Why don't you look at the male officers brings prostitutes from mercer street in there as dates. Beden that way for sometime.
LETS HAVE SOME NAMES OF THE SWAPPERS?

Its a great place to go and hang out with my date. Not certain what u consider to be "older group" but Im in early 40's and have a great time. Yes the guys over 70 may reminiscence about their "good old days" but I never see any drama but I don't go look for it either. Great food especially patty melt.

Actually that was more of a promt to hear more details about the food they serve, which I did. Jeez!

I have been invited a few times and was looking for a little more information. Let me be more direct. What food do they serve, how much does it cost and how does the whole membership thing work? Is the place filled with cigarette smoke?

The place is filled with cigatette smoke they do have fans that are suppose to help but do not. You can not buy anything unless you are a member not sure how much it is to join right now I know to keep renewing for a male is $50 and female is $30 yearly. The food prices are descent soda is $1.25 food is not expense it is worth what you pay for it. They have hotdogs, hamburgers, eggs rolls, about anything you want. They also have specials on the weekends like chicken and dumplins, meatloaf, and ect.
Whatever

Female membership 30.00 food very good and reasonably priced. As for the cheating ..... not sure that happens either. Most that attend are married, some singles, but most may attention to who is with whom and don't intrude. Been a member for several years no drama, fighting is not tolerated. Best advice for anybody that may like to check it out is find somebody to sign you in,still can't buy alcohol or gamble, check it out for yourself instead of relying on somebody elses opinion.

If you guys don't like the Moose, go somewhere else. It is not perfect, but is a whole lot better than anywhere else we can go. I have been a member for 15 years and I am one of the old ones and I haven't found a place I like better. By the way, if nothing happens you will get older, when that day comes think about what you have said. Again, if you don't like the members at the Moose you don't need to be a member, go somewhere else!

The Moose used to be a great place for a married guy to go have a drink or shoot pool. Women were only allowed with a guy and had to be chapperoned the whole time they were there to prevent trouble from starting. It wasn't designed to be a pickup bar. It went downhill fast after they got greedy and turned into a normal bar. It was a good place that guys wife or girlfriend didn't have to worry about what he was doing, they need a place like that now. It even would be nice if the ladies had a place to go where they didn't get hit on constantly and could go out with their friends as well.
I know for sure

Or what about the kids Easter party, the kids Halloween party or the family picnics they do. They're a great organization for the community. You must have been one of the pill popping whores that got canned for being useless. As far as the wife swapping as long as your not with some of the trashy people up there and surround yourself with decent people. You're ok!!
I worked there in late 1970's when it was under a good manager,I quit after not getting enough hours to drive 20 miles to work 4-5 hrs a day. I 've never snorted and taken drugs excuse me. I've never prostituted I've been happily married 40 years.I saw plenty when I worked there period. I never saw a prositute in there.

Single, female member, early 40's. I've been a member for 7 years now and have never had any problems there. They have great, very reasonably priced food, nice bartenders, and others who are staffed and our board members. I'm sure you have people who have cheated, but that will happen anywhere. It has nothing to do with the Moose. There are both single and married men & women there. Everyone I see on a regular basis know each other by first names or at least by face, and always say hello. Friendly, but not hit on pushy like I would get at a local bar somewhere. We have Karoake on Thrusday & Friday nights, and a dance with a live band upstairs every Saturday. With those you have money drawings for cash. I think it's a great place to go. I have met some great friends while I have been a member. I have also never been concerened about being shot while there like I am when I have been at other clubs in Princeton and Bluefield. Give us a try. You may find that this is the place for you as well.
