Got to the bank at 1:10 today to find a sign that the bank closed at 1 due to weather. Many transfers of money happen on fridays into payroll accts. As it happens, was also going to purchase a 50k CD. The snow had stopped and the roads were in relatively good shape. It was a senseless closure that has impacted 13 employees and definitely cost them the CD and my business. Every other bank operated fully.

I happen to love NPB of Bluewell. Since I have moved my money from BB&T I have had no problem whatsoever with my account.

You seem to know too much - "13 Employees"...must be an employee who didn't get all their hours in...wanted to sit there. Either way, NPB is the crappiest bank in town! And...MCNB closed at 3.

Sounds like someone is ticked because they were inconvenienced. I bank at NPB in Princeton...have had no problems at all. I am glad the bank feels their employees have some worth. Used to bank at One Valley, then BB&T (fee happy bank). I feel 13 employees are more important than a CD....thats what wrong with our world...no value for human life. No one knows how fast or severe a storm is so precautions were done....you would feel different if your child, mother, husband etc. were killed due to weather....how selfish.... Way to go NPB!!!!! Maybe I should apply there....cannot find to many employers who care of their staff!!!

Maybe I was the only person paying attention, but it sounds like 13 people didn't get paid Friday because npb wanted a half day. It's a shame that businesses don't think of their customers as people too and when its a business customer they should consider all of that customers employees as well.

You people are sitting and bitching about a bank closing 2 help protect their employees, seems alot of people are jealous because your company is money hungry and could care less about you. I think they should be commended for caring about their folks, I haven't heard one complaint because schools were closed. It's fine to keeps the kids home but what about our tax dollars paying the teachers and other employees to stay home when they could be preparing for future classes and ect. Definately the janitors could find something to do because a few schools I've been in are nasty, and cooks could clean the ovens and stoves and shelves. That pisses me of to know end when my tax dollars are wasted, NPB closing isn't costing us shit so I'm just like the most of you jealous because my employee don't care about us and NPB does. Everyone should have been off the roads as soon as possible for your safety and the bank was open Saturday for peoples 2 use. KUDOS NPB

I LOVE THAT THE BANK THOUGHT ENOUGH OF THEIR EMPLOYEES TO CLOSE WHEN NO ONE COULD KNOW HOW MUCH WORSE THE STORM COULD HAVE GOTTEN. WASN'T IT JUST LAST WEEK THAT PEOPLE WERE STRANDED ON THE INTERSTATE AND NOT ABLE TO GET HOME? GET A CLUE AND THINK OF SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOURSELF!'LET DOWN, WANTS TO KNOW' DUMB ASSES!

Sorry, but I'm going to have to call you out on this one. If you had 50,000, the last place you want to put it is a bank in a CD with little or no interest; you need a stockbroker. None of those at NPB. You're just an average Joe who was pissed because his bank was closed. Get over it. I sent my 2 employees home too and closed early. If I lost business, it's not worth losing an employee.

Kudos 2 U for having feelings 4 your employees well being instead of money. I'm sure they greatly appreciated it greatly. I think the above post are from people pissed because they had to work and didn't get to go early.

It appears that your lack of success (2 employees, comical really) is surpassed only by your lack of wit. Pimp.

Having only two employees means nothing....at least there are two more people not living on welfare or drawing unemployment. Most Mom and Pop businesses (which is the backbone of this country) don't always employ alot of people. I say, I would rather work there than a large corporation that doesn't even know my name.
