Do you mean restrict you from buying new ones of a certain type? Or physically come to your house and take the guns you currently own? Because no one is proposing that anyone do that, not even the president

OK I hear ya, you want to protect your property, I can relate to that, I feel the same way, but no one is proposing that the government come to your house and take away your guns, that's all I'm saying. It's that type of paranoia that keeps people from seriously discussing gun control

The 2nd amendment has fundamentally stood its ground for over 200 years and the supreme court has made a ruling confirming it. In the 1930s fully automatic or "machine guns" were banned because they were too dangerous and could cause too much damage to police officers and citizens. Kind of how people are debating now that semi-autos and high capacity magazines are too easily available and can cause too much damage. Now since those machine guns were banned in the 1930s how has this kept you from owning guns and protecting your property? It hasn't. I am a true believer in protecting the 2nd Amendment as well as all of our rights but some common sense gun laws does not undermine that

if a person wants to kill they will find away to. We can't control everything. The more laws we have the less freedom we have. I think we have to many laws now. The laws we have also hurt our economy.

yes i know they will find a way eventually. but we aren't trying to stop people from killing...we are trying to stop it from being so damn easy..anyone can basically fire a gun, no training or planning involved...just point and pull the trigger. we are trying to stop people from killing with semi automatic weapons with high capacity magazines from with there is little or no chance of escape. We are trying to make it harder for a mentally unstable person to get ahold of his mothers legal firearms and do massive damage. so just because a person will find a way to kill we should do nothing? we should just say well we cant control everything.

Another clueless peon without any grasp whatsoever of how government and lawmaking actually works. Continue living in a state of fear perpetuated by your ignorance. If people would have paid a bit more attention in their high school civics class, we'd not be having these utterly pointless discussions about confiscation.

I agree a lot of the anti gun control talk is based on paranoia and fear.

That was 27 years ago. They might have put it in with another class like history but don't remember it.

They should ban assault knives, assault cars, assault rocks and ball bats....everything is dangerous and can be considered an "assault weapon". There is more going on behind closed door in that white house than what the public knows. i think there scared of "WE THE PEOPLE" fighting back over all the government control our country has feel into.
