The new Behavioral Health Pavilion that moved in the old St. Lukes Hospital is a farce. I really needed some help a couple weeks ago and not only did I have to spend 8 hours in the emergency room at PCH for what they call medical clearance when I have no medical issues at all and when I was finally admitted they discharged me after a couple of days because I said I was feeling better. They churn so many people in and out of there it made me dizzy. The old place that was at PCH was never like this, I had to go there a couple years ago and at that time they actually cared about the quality of care they gave and the nurses were pleasant. The Nurses and Doctors at the Behavior Health Pavilion are so damn grumpy it made it unbearable to be there as a patient. That place in not going to last if it continues like this.
It's your own fault if you told the doctors that you felt fine. If you didn't feel good state that, if you don't feel like you should go home yet state that! Don't just go with the flow and let it happen then be pissed about it later shit, grow up and take responsibility. Just like any business they have procedures they go by. Don't forget it, Walmart is the same way, so is McDonalds. Get a life not everything goes your way the way you want it.

As with any new place of business even if it was at PCH before; the Pavilion will still have growing pains. Now it will be different for sure but it will get better. As for the director over there, she has very competent staff and she herself is very competent. If you are looking for place top hang out then don't go there. It is a hospital and it will serve those who need treatment well.
They have very specific rules and regulations now that it is a seperate building.
It is not a hand out place.
whoever this Hmmmm is I guess they like mine... anyway the Pavilion is a much needed place here in this area. They are helping people who want to help themselves also. It's a shame that a few go there so that they can keep thier SSI. No wonder soem of the staff are disinfranchized. zyou would be too if you one worked as hard as the staff does there including the management to give good care regardless.
Let's hope that the ones bashing the place never need services of this nature. Like the other Hmmm says don't go there if you are looking for a place to hang out. That's not the purpose. How about some positivity. My hat is off to the staff and management. It takes special people to work there and THEY do work HARD.

Well it is November 2012 and there is no changes in the place. The staff look more depressed than the patients and don't want to get up to do their jobs and the poor elderly lay there all day in wet diapers and if someone goes by and makes a noise that might wake the elderly the staff fusses fearing they might have to change a diaper. And they play dirty politics if you complain.

The one positive thing I hear about the Behavioral Health Pavilion is that it stays full; this area definitely has the right population to keep a facility like this in business. I also understand staff turnover in this facility is very high; mainly nursing staff, but other areas as well. My guess about the high turnover would be poor management, as I understand there have been several people in the administrator position already, as well as several nurses in the management position. As for whether this facility actually help patients, it always depends on the patient. I know someone who benefitted from their stay and is doing well, but I also know two others who have been there more than once, and will likely be there many more times in the future, because it's easier to abuse their support system than to man up and move on like a responsible adult. Personally, I would choose to take my family member for inpatient treatment out of the area.

Buggz is right. Patients have the ability and responsibility to be in control of their outcomes related to treatment. No one and nothing can fix your problems if you don't try.

I sure was hoping that place would be decent. There isn't one decent mental health provider in this area. Southern Highlands is a joke. Private practice psychiatrists are in it strictly for the money, so they're all jokes. Now this place, too? Such a shame. It had such potential.
I agree southern highlands SUCKS the boss thinks he is the man and he is sleeping with trashy staff and nurses ! They dont care about nobody like PCH . If u want to get better leave WV to get treatment.

Jill who are you? Why don't you just ask Amanda. If you don't know her well enough to ask her yourself, it's none of your business.
