The new Behavioral Health Pavilion that moved in the old St. Lukes Hospital is a farce. I really needed some help a couple weeks ago and not only did I have to spend 8 hours in the emergency room at PCH for what they call medical clearance when I have no medical issues at all and when I was finally admitted they discharged me after a couple of days because I said I was feeling better. They churn so many people in and out of there it made me dizzy. The old place that was at PCH was never like this, I had to go there a couple years ago and at that time they actually cared about the quality of care they gave and the nurses were pleasant. The Nurses and Doctors at the Behavior Health Pavilion are so damn grumpy it made it unbearable to be there as a patient. That place in not going to last if it continues like this.

OMG I was wondering when someone would talk about that place. I have friends that work there and let me tell you they have already had three Doctors resign and all the Nurses are looking for other jobs. That place is crumbling and it isn't wonder why the Nurses and Doctors are in a bad mood. It is run by a person that does not know her ass from a hole in the ground and I can't believe she is in that position. I used to work with her on Behavior Med. when it was at PCH and she was a charge nurse and she didn't know jack and was lazy as hell. If the powers that be know whats good and want to keep that place open the will fire her ass and get someone in there that knows what they are doing.

I have heard similar things about Behavioral Health Pavilion. I used to work at Behavioral Med also. Who is running the new place at St. Lukes now?

Spangler!!?!?? you are right! that place will fold. I thought about applying over there but that has done it for me. There is no way in hell I would work there. I hear they are supposed to be pay well but I don't give a f**k how much they pay!

I sure was hoping that place would be decent. There isn't one decent mental health provider in this area. Southern Highlands is a joke. Private practice psychiatrists are in it strictly for the money, so they're all jokes. Now this place, too? Such a shame. It had such potential.

I was waiting to hear what people thought about them because I was hopeing it would be better than SH. They made you go to the PCH er before they would admit you? That is crazy! If you were that sick they should have kept you at least two weeks to see if the meds would help you. When you are sick the last thing you need is hateful people around you. My brother has been trying to get in at Southern Highlands. He was there the first time over four hours doing an intake, his left hand is crippled up and he can't write, nobody will help him. He got an appt. with dr Bizzri, when he went they said they had lost his intake papers and he would have to do them before he could see the dr. He knew it would be another month to get to see the dr. so he told them to forget it. There is one in Princeton I was wondering about, it is called Bridgewater. That new place will not last long. I hate to hear that.

Not Bridgewater!! I think it's closed, anyway, but Dr. Bizri is the one who was the staff psychiatrist there - it was his practice. You'd be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Dr. Bizri is an ass. And I can't tell you the times I've heard people saying he will come up with any reason he can not to see you - like paperwork being lost, or some other jacked up shit like that. I could be wrong about Bridgewater being closed, but I'm positive that was Dr. Bizri's practice, so I would not suggest it.

Yeah she is still there....I have been seeing her for awhile and she is a very good doctor. I have heard many mixed experiences with Southern Highlands but mine have been positive for the most part. It takes them awhile to get things started but when I was looking for services FMRS told me it would be over 3 months before I could see a doctor and I could not wait that long.

As with any new place of business even if it was at PCH before; the Pavilion will still have growing pains. Now it will be different for sure but it will get better. As for the director over there, she has very competent staff and she herself is very competent. If you are looking for place top hang out then don't go there. It is a hospital and it will serve those who need treatment well.
They have very specific rules and regulations now that it is a seperate building.
It is not a hand out place.

I think the staff at Southern Highlands is great!! I am talking about everyone!! Their only faults are that they are under paid and under appreciated!! The community should be thankful that we have a facility that can serve us so professionally. I have been a client there for several years, and my quality of life has improved because they do care.

Yeah, these are the same jackoffs that refused treatment to someone close to me because they tested positive for Hydromorphone (Dilaudid). The whole point in trying to get in there was due to having problems with her Bi-Polar condition. They treated her rudely from the get go and told her to come back clean. WTF? Kind of hard to come back if someone blows thier head off that is serious eh? The funny thing to the whole incident was, that she wasn't even using drugs, the drug test came back as an opiate and they tried to say it was something else. This person wasn't even using drugs. I heard this place sucked anyway from others around the area. Can't smoke or any of that shit.

The only staff member that I will give any credit to is Stephanie Bailey. She has helped me more than she'll ever know with my past problem with opiate addiction. Kudos Stephanie.

i think the nurses at the pavilion are wonderful. Some are mean like Karin but others are so nice like erica and sherry and shellie. They care and treat everyone with respect regardless of your issues. Yes it is poorly managed right now. But that is not the staffs fault. It is a great place I think and have helped alot of people. Tammy is good too. She does activities but they should make her a counselor cause she is the bomb. Dont knock it or count it out just yet. They do take your comments and try to improve. Really.

someone bought this back up to the top. I read this and wanted to cry. I think this was written march 31. My brother doesn't need help any more. He passed away in my arms unexpectly May/24/10. He isn't suffering any more, not crippled from a major stoke he had when he was 40. Every morning thank God for letting you wake up and pray he will keep you safe every day. We were laughing, talking and drinking coffee like a normal day. They say he had a blood clod go to his lung and it killed him instant. I love you brother. We are in bad need for drug rehab around here. It is many people that do want to get off of them, they cannot w/o some help. It's even dangerous for them to stop all at once. May God be with the ones that wanna quit and help them.

I agree with the poster that was discharged after two days cause he said he felt better. That is not enough time to help nobody, we all know that. They give him a med to help him while he was there that was helping him to feel better but I doubt they gave him a prescription for it when he went home. I imagine one-two days he was back in the same shape. I will see if they have a web site and if so I will make a suggestion they need to keep them much longer than they do.
