Have the gun prices went up since the Conn. school shooting? I know the gun stores gone up on assault guns but how about the normal hunting rifles and hand guns?

Im sure they probably will ...simple supply and demand..everyone thinks they will be banning ALL firearms for some reason so they are rushing out to buy up everything they can. This will drive the price up as they are in high demand. Same thing happened in 2008 when Obama was elected. Alot of people believed that Obama was gonna ban all guns (which was absolutely ridiculous) so firearm and ammo sales went through the roof causing the prices to go up. That was four years ago and no ones been knocking on the door to collect everyone's guns. Im a gun owner myself but this paranoia is out of control. How about lets have a real discussion on gun control. Why is the second amendment the ONLY one people seem to take literally word for word and refuse to budge on. These gun snackbarists believe they can own ANY type of firearm they want and as many of them as they can buy. Why? The other amendments give us basic freedoms but are regulated. Even free speech isn't truly free. Look at all the censorship. What you can and can't say on TV or on the radio. We have to have limits for the greater good or everyone while still protecting our rights. Don't get me wrong gun control is far from the only solution but it's a start. Yeah maybe it wont keep criminals from still having these weapons but maybe it stops a single mom with a unstable son from getting ahold of one. We just need to stop the amount of damage that can be done when someone snaps. There are things put in place to protect us from each other all the time even though some people with still find a way to get around them it does cut down on deaths. Even simple things like the speed limit. people can argue they should be able to drive whatever speed they want, they bought the car. But with a speed limit in place most people obey it and it saves lives. Yeah, people still speed and they kill each other when they do but there has to be rules.

These paranoid-delusional gun advocates are no longer to be trusted. I cannot raise my children around these people nor teach them to trust folks such as these. The person who teaches that a gun is the be all, end all answer to life's problems teaches that force is the only means of diplomacy and that words, education, and reason come second to the barrel of a gun and the intention of the person holding it to mold you into an obedient slave. I'm not living in a bubble, I know there are criminals out there, but a reasonable thinker would try to figure out what makes people become criminals in the first place. A gun advocate simply wishes to kill them all and let God sort 'em out.

These southern West Virginians (and like-minded people nationwide) are not capable of thinking in a three-dimensional world where there is black, white, and gray area. They can only see things in terms of twos: if you're not with us, you're against us. If you're not this, you're that. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. If you don't like guns, then you want to disarm every single person in this country.

They cannot be trusted. They will never be trusted. Southern West Virginians are dangerous to the growth and development of my two little girls, despite all their rhetoric about this place being a laid-back, easy going, comfortable place to live. I've been saving up for a while now and when the time comes to relocate, I will never look back at this wretched, horrible, stressed-out, and disgraceful location and curse it until my dying breath - God's best kept secret? More like the Devil's laboratory.

I was told when I first moved here that West Virginians are some of the nicest people in the country, after living in several states up and down the east coast. The simple lifestyle, the country living, the laid-back stress-free attitude sounds perfect on the surface for raising two girls. But after eavesdropping on conversations related to guns, reading some of the stuff on Topix, and inviting dialogues with some of the residents here, you've all taught me that you are dangerous, intolerant, racist, suffer from paranoid delusions, homophobic, misogynistic, and basically detrimental to the growth and prosperity of the human race. You have nothing to contribute to mankind, other than shop talk about cars and guns and football.

West Virginians are horrible, horrible people. I know there are some West Virginians who are decent, but the majority overwhelm the general perception of this place. The majority of you people have convinced me that this state is no place to raise a family.

If you advocate guns, you promote death. Inexistence. A zero. Among a group of men and women who are capable of using their minds, you would be scorned.

Now hold on their. If you are so knowable and educated why did you have kids in the 1st place. You knew what the world was like before you got knocked up with them. Why did you bring them into a world full of hate, crime, and such as you proclaim. Sounds more like selfish of I want kids not thinking I will not be the one to reproduce because this world is so bad. By all means move, I am sure everyone would give you a dollar to help you get out of here. But watch and you'll see. No matter where you go all this crap you claim exits solidly in WV is everywhere. It just comes to us last where we are a smaller mass of people who like things simple. You mess with a WV person's gun rights you will be shot. I am waiting for Obama to be killed over this. Do everyone a favor and stop reproducing.

Go to hell.

I can gather from your words, your logic, that you (and others like you) are the reason children grow up to become criminals. You encourage hatred and crime. You promote the concept of a violent world. You condone violence in all its forms, even to the point of condoning the murder of my elected leader.

You said it yourself, "I am waiting for Obama to be killed over this".

You are a vile, contemptible woman and I highly recommend sterilization. If you already have children, I really hope the state steps in and removes them from your home. They do not deserve to have you fouling their minds and polluting their logic with your mouth-foaming hatred.

Lmafo you are mad because I told you how it is! For one, I am not selfish enough to want to have a child just to say I got kids and want someone to unconditionally love me at all times. Seriously, anyone who have sense wouldn't bring a child into this world. And 2, mark my words. They take away the rights to our guns people will just build bombs and it will become a bigger mass of deconstruction. People will get rid of others no matter what. Violence will not stop just because mommy wants it to because its not safe out there. In that case. Lock your doors, do not go out, do not send your kids to school, don't go outside for yard work and so on because the world isn't safe. I bet you if you carry a metal dector round in the mall or walmart. It would be going off like madness. If it isn't for those who carries guess what that gunner could had killed your kids if someone who packed didn't shoot them first. Get over it girl your beliefs isn't 3D nor 4D if it was you would already know the outcome of pulling gun rights. BOMBS! Which one you want out of the two?

I'm not a girl. And no, you didn't tell me "how it is!", you just rattled off some garbage about the world not being safe. Have you even seen the world outside West Virginia? Have you ever had an original thought? I mean a purely original thought, not just something you read from a bumper sticker or a clever joke told by some gas station attendant?

You have no idea what you're talking about, do you? You know as much about gun rights as I know about quantum mechanics.

The argument that if you take away guns then people will use bombs really gets under my skin! Yeah some people will make bombs to cause mass deaths they already do and people have guns but bombs are so much harder to make and execute then just pulling a trigger! Basically anyone can shoot a gun! The gun control debate is about making it harder for people to do these things. I mean cmon when johnny redneck gets pissed off for someone cutting him off or lookin at his woman is he gonna pull a bomb out from under his seat and throw it..or in the heat of the moment when someone snaps are they gonna grab a bomb from their closet (that they just happen to have made up) and drive to a school with it? Alot of gun violence is not pre meditated and by restricting access to alot of certain firearms and who can have them will cut down on the firearms that are available to someone in the heat of the moment.

Sounds like I said something you didn't like lol. Oh BTW *uck yes I said I am waiting for someone to kill him. You want me to underline it, how about placing it in Bold print, or would blood be better. I may be a female but don't go doubting my knowledge about guns rights when you can't deal with your surroundings since you keep moving. You obviously a very unhappy person. What would you classify original though? How to make people like you silent? How to make a pig fly? How we can understand animals. Yea, sounds stupid doesn't it. Original thoughts idea was too. No one has an original thought. If you thought it someone else has probably already thought about it and came up with a solution.

Now it is hard to build a bomb, really. What about the flour you make biscuits out of? How about those household products you use to clean with daily? How about tin foil? How about those contents you use in your tool shed? Thats right, its a lot easier then you think. They can build it right there in Walmart, Kmart, even grocery stores, honestly anywhere. Flour is really flameable. Not to mention a big explosion. No tools are required.

Now if you don't like what I got to say. You can just stop writing to me. Best yet why don't you go get some boxes and get ready to move. How about go sit down in the floor and color with the kids. How about write the President and say how happy you are with him being reelected while others are cussing those who voted for him. Funny how you talk to some black people and they even hate the dude. I love it! Think God the piece of goo cannot be reelected again.

Now someone with honestly get back with me who goes shopping a lot at gun store, have the prices really gone up. I plan on getting another concealed handgun "hint to not sale". Also, I need some more rifles.

those types of bombs u talk about arent really that hard to make no but they also arent that lethal ok yeah maybe someone could die but i was refering to bombs say like the OK City or WTC bombs or bombs like the unabomber made. ones that can really kill alot of people not hillbilly fireworks. anways the point is pulling the trigger of a gun is easier and almost anyone was age 3 to 100 can do it...

I travel a great deal for work both foreign and domestic. I have lived several places, east coast, west coast and in between. I can honestly say this is where I want to be. With my experience and skill set I could probably find a position almost anywhere in the country, yet here I am. I agree this area does have its issues, but overall it is a great place and it is where I am raising my children. “Not Safe” I think the atmosphere you are looking for is probably out west. Oregon or California would probably be your best bet, but I warn you. There are gun advocates out there too. Maybe not as many but nonetheless they are out there. You could try the UK. I was there a couple of months ago and was talking to a business associate about gun control in their country. As you know the UK banned guns several years ago, turns out there are still plenty of them around. Yep the criminals actually rent them to other criminals… imagine that. While their gun violence is lower they still have it. I hate to tell you, but no matter where you move to there are going to be issues that you have to deal with. Teach your children to value life, don’t let the community do your job for you, you might not like the curriculum and this is true for wherever you live.
