I would like to see more people start having yard sales on Sunday. Flea markets do very well on Sunday and I think for the people who have to work 6 days a week that like going to yard sales this would be nice.

Personally I think it is wrong to have yard sales on Sunday. I know alot of people are off but I believe that America needs to put the whole day of rest thing back on the agenda for Sunday. You dont have to be a christian to spend time with your family and just relax for the day. If we could get back to that then the poor people that work with the public could have a day off and spend it at church and/or with their families too. I believe this would help with crime and juvenile problems as well.

Disagree, Fluffy. That was fine when the momma could stay home and we worked a 40 hour week, but with people working the schedules they do, Sunday is no longer a day of rest. It's just another work day for the slavemasters.

It is all about demand. Most places now if you apply and it is retail/fast food/etc. they refuse to let people have Sunday off as a day of worship. If we could all stop shopping and stop eating at restaurants then maybe they would get the point and allow those people their day off.

Besides who wants to go shopping on Sunday when all the stores close early? I would rather have giant yard sales everywhere on Saturday so I can go shopping all day long.

All these people that believe no one should work on Sundays because it is a day of worship, where do they go right after church. Shopping and out to eat where people have to work to serve them. I love how they can stand up there and preach the word and turn around and do the opposite to suite themselves. All these kids on myspace that are in church saying their older than what they are to have a account. They have lied to get what they want.

i guess we can let the doctors and nurses and all medical personnel have sunday off too, if we're goin back to the "good ole days" if you're in the hospital, well, since no one is working, you can just take of yourself, and hey, if you wreck your car, since everyone is off work, you can lay there til monday when everyone comes back to work. most people would love to have the weekends off, but in order to support your family, you work what days they tell you to, i'd much rather work on sunday and have a paycheck, than to have the day off and be broke.

I said retail and service people. You know places that don't have to be open on Sunday. Please learn to read.

Two extra terrestrials came to earth hoping to find intelligent life forms. Unfortunately they landed in fluffy me's/helen t's back yard. They went home empty handed.

i did read it dimwit, this was your original post where you said poor people that work with the public, well, that's the majority of the jobs in this area, which includes medical professionals. yes, your second post, you did say retail etc... but in order to support your family, if they request that you work on sunday, then you damn well better if you want to keep your job. no big company such as mcdonalds or walmart, would ever close their doors on sundays because of christians, who shop there on sundays as well.
the normal working person works all week long, and sometimes saturdays, so of course these places will be open to accommodate the regular working class.

You better be glad that I ran them off. Have you seen Stephen Hawking's theory on them? Your welcome.

I would be spending the day relaxing and spending time with my family if I could find yard sales on Sunday. If you don't want to do anything except go to church on Sunday, that is just what you should do. Go straight home after church, don't stop and buy anything anywhere and do whatever makes you happy when you get home. The days of the Blue Law have long been gone but feel free to boycott all businesses that are open on Sunday.

I know them kids love being dragged through the flea markets full of produce and grandma antiques. I am sure that the husband really appreciates it too. Might as well take them to the mall and drop them off at the food court. They would have a better time I am sure.

My kids and husband actually enjoy going. My husband is a collector and likes looking through the stuff to see if he can find the stuff he collects at a bargain. I like to find good deals on better brands of kids clothes, since they outgrow them so quick and my kids like to look at the toys and books.

I love a good yard sale/flea market. And so do my husband and kids. We go all the time, you would be surprised at what good deals and quality stuff you can find cheap.
