You are very unprofessional having a PUBLIC facebook page and for friending your clients. Letting them make comments regarding your cases in a PUBLIC arena. Didn't they teach you about confidentiality at Rutgers?

Completely agree with previous comment. For the record if you are a male PLEASE do not open a case with her she will drain you over a female. Will not admit to her mistakes!

Highly NOT RECOMMENDED! Beyond a reasonable doubt. Will drag you into believing you will win a case but will draw a blank when court date comes around. Please get a second opinion before even looking into this "Attorney".

DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY!!!
She represented me and sounded very knowledgeable in preparation but as one of the previous comments stated when court date comes around she will draw a TOTAL BLANK, do nothing to defend you in court and you will end up with the WORST possible resolution to your case.

Totally agree with the other comments. Very unprofessional, unethical and disorganized. Will waste lots of time wanting meetings so that hours drag on and fees accumulate. Will present false or inflated facts, hoping to throw plenty of sh*t on the wall to see what sticks. Not interested in amicable solutions.

My name is Amanda Mays and I ran the Law Office of Amanda Mays through October 25, 2010. These comments are absolutely ridiculous. Every time I file a child support enforcement motion against my ex-husband, another nasty comment finds its way on this site. There is never a specific complaint, there is never anyone complaining that they lost their case....it is always about my character and "professionalism" or "ethics." I am proud to say that I have never had any ethical charges brought against myself or my firm, nor have I ever had any ethical complaints brought to the New Jersey Bar. I have never had a lawsuit against my firm or myself. As far as the over-charging claims, especially male clients, I have only had one fee arbitration in my entire career brought by one female client who did not want to pay her bill. I won the fee arbitration as it was deemed to be fair and reasonable charges. Nevertheless, I did not sue file a lawsuit to seek enforcement and forgave the debt she owed.
I have built a practice based on a passion for the law and a dedication to help both men and women through the divorce process. I have taken on emergent/abuse cases for free. I work late hours and weekends to accommodate clients. I have forgiven thousands of dollars of debt owed by clients who couldn't afford to pay. I do not charge any gender more, nor do I prefer female clients. These are ridiculous accusations and the 60 - 80 clients that I work with every year have never complained about my "professionalism."
I have closed my office on October 25, 2010. Yet another comment has been placed. Coincidentally, the day my ex-husband received another child support enforcement motion and seeking to resume my maiden name. Funny, the comment mentions my maiden name when it was never used professionally and none of my clients new my maiden name.
These immature nasty comments have been reported to the website manager.
To my community, it has been a pleasure serving you for the last three years and I wish all of my colleagues and former clients well.

Testimonials cut & pasted from my former website:

Dear Amanda,
You are absolutely HARDCORE! I feared the legal implications of divorce because of my extreme circumstances. My situation was extremely complicated and you were always relaxed and confident, to which I fed on constantly just to keep from emotionally falling apart. I thank you for not only doing your job, of which was executed so well and professionally, but you also cared and expressed genuine concern when you really didn't have to. Your knowledge, wisdom and insight greatly changed the course of where I initially thought my case was heading before I hired your legal services. This attitude even prompted a judge to reconsider their preliminary judgment. Again, I thank you for your honesty, skill, insight, knowledge, wisdom and understanding. These attributes of yours have saved me a world of trouble. Thank you so very much.

Amanda,
Words can barely express my appreciation for what you
have done to bring our family together. You have stood by
me every step of the way and never once were you
intimidated by the bulldog attorney I had to fight for the
several years. I was disenchanted after losing several
battles over the years but you encouraged me not give up
because you knew we could win this case. I just needed
the right attorney. Now my family is complete and I thank
you.
Sandra & Percy White

Amanda,
I am grateful to have an attorney who not only has the
legal experience but the personal touch as well. You
know what I was going through because you've been
there. You handled my legal problems with diligence and
empathy. I thank you for a successful outcome and was
glad you were on my side!
Diane Melville

Amanda,
Your assistance, support and compassion is much
appreciated. Amanda you have gone way beyond your
role as my representative in this matter. Your personal
touch and persistence has made my case run smooth.
Thank you for listening! May God continue to bless you.
Sincerely,
Beatriz Reyes

Hi Amanda,
We truly appreciate your attentiveness and honesty
regarding our case. We trust in your abilities, and of
course, we understand the rest is up to the judge. We
believe your honesty and willingness to help your clients
will really help you succeed. We are extremely happy
with you and would highly recommend you. As I stated ,
we are already looking for you to do some more work for
us.
Thanks again,
Joseph & Cecelia Martin

Amanda,
Hope you had a peaceful and joyous holiday. Hope the
New year brings you the same. Thank you for all your
hard work and understanding with this case. If you have
space on your site for feedback let me know and I will
give you a RAVE review. Happy Holiday's and Respectfully,
The Canulli's
Leigh, Vince, Gianna and Faith.

Dear Amanda,
I would like to thank you for representing me in court
when I wanted to move out of state. If I had any
questions or doubts, you didn't mind my calling or
emailing you regarding the issue. I have no doubt that
you will be an outstanding lawyer for future cases. If I
need you again, I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Wadiya S. Legette

Ms. Mays,
You mention that you've only had one fee arbitration in your entire career. This wasn't caused by the same female who wanted alimony for a longer term than the length of her marriage was it? Because if that's the case, she never had any intentions of paying you and was reliant that the defendant would be responsible for paying your fees. She always felt you weren't doing a good job for her.
What was the end result of that case anyway?
