Mass lamb slaughter is halted

There are 6 comments on the The Charlotte Observer story from Dec 15, 2007, titled Mass lamb slaughter is halted. In it, The Charlotte Observer reports that:

“I think it would be better, more spiritually worthwhile, to utilize what's been arranged in the various Muslim communities, and let it benefit all of the community and not just the Muslims”

At the state's urging, a Johnston County judge on Friday told a farmer he couldn't open his farm next week to Muslim families planning to slaughter lambs as part of an annual religious celebration. via The Charlotte Observer

what a stupid judge. If the muslims tradition is to slaughter sheep then they can do it. I don't think this is justice this is jealousy.

If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compaasion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow man. ~Francis of Assisi~

Usually when people don't understand the facts behind an issue they tend to react emotionally. The Muslim tradition of celebrating Abraham's sacrifice by slaughtering lambs to be eaten, which is why they are raised. The matter in which the lambs are killed are in fact much more humane than the fate that will eventually await them. One third of the meat is given to the poor, one third is given to friends/family and one third is for personal consumption. Nothing is wasted and the lambs traditionally are given excellent care before the slaughter. These animals are treated much more humanely than the animals consumpted at restaurants and brought in the grocery stores.

Christ died on the cross so that animal sacrifices would not be needed. There will be no meat eaters in the end of time. Thank God

Thank you Judge- These farmers are just out for a fast buck, under unsanitary conditions. Blood, remains, buzzards are allover my area when there is a killing. I am concerned about my well, since my next door killer has the most disgusting so called farm. He doesn't care about sanitation!
