Hazel Young was our niece and like Angela said she was the mother of three children. The youngest was only 3 months old, not 4. But anyway I hope the driver of the car is charged to no end!!! She hit our niece so hard it took her legs clear off her body!!! The police found one leg in the ditch, and the other one on the other side of the road!! I hope the driver of the car remembers what they had done everyday for the rest of their life. We will remember what the driver did!!! I don't want to assume but Please if anyone reads this don't drink and drive!!! Hazel will be remembered and missed everyday for the rest of our lives!!!! We love you Hazel!! Rest in peace our sweet niece!!!

Our hearts go out to Ms. Young and her family, especially her children. This was my neice that hit Ms. Young but it was a terrible accident. She was behind a truck and the driver told the state patrol that he had to swerve to miss Ms. Young. The driver, who is only 17 did not see her. In fact, she thought something had fell off the truck and had no idea what happended until we told her at the hospital. She is extremly upset too and the reason she did not stop immediately was because she is severely traumatized. She was hit in the mouth and her teeth were knocked out and both jaws were fractured,so she stopped as soon as she could. Again, we all are very sorry and the family is in our prayers.

This is such a tragic event for everyone involved. My prayers go out to both families. I don't know all the circumstances but I doubt the young lady driving the car would have this to happen if there was anyway she could have avoided it.

I have read all 6 comments, and I am sure the young lady being 17, will never recover from such a bad accident. Call it what it is "A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT FOR BOTH FAMILIES", I don't think family members that was not there should judge, God, says he will do the judging on judgement day......I will certainly remember how mean and inconsiderate people can be and I am an older person, I have seen a lot in my lifetime......So, before making a bad situation worse look into your own heart and do what you can for the woman's family that is left behind and pray that the young girl can somehow get the help to recover from this. My prayers for both families and may God be with each family through this untimely tragic accident.

I agree with Prayers1of Raleigh. Do not pass judgment, because you are not God. I am sure that the young lady that hit this woman would not have done it on purpose. My prayers are with this young lady and also with the family for their loss.

This is such a tragic accident. I will pray for the family of this poor woman who has died too early in life, and for this poor 17 yr old who will forever be tramatized by this event. It truly is a sad sad day.
