Does adsmore take it's self to seriously?

I had some family go to adsmore, the wouldnt allow any photos and they watched you like you were going to rob the place. They treat it more like shrine than an old home.

No these people are were not involved with our research, not that it should matter one bit.. This was at a standard tour group.They treated everyone like that. I still find the history there interesting, but I do find it a bit overdone. I think they would get more patrons there if the ones running it were less anal about the whole thing. I hope that one day we may investigate there, but not like that.

Yes it absolutely does matter.

The last thing anyone wants whether they are christian or not is to have someone around who is actively involved in entertaining the devil and being entertained by the devil.
The bible makes it very clear people should not be preoccupied in the type of satanic entertaining activity you are involved in.
The bible states to resist the devil and the devil will then leave your presence. It doesnt say go looking for him because you are bored silly and have nothing better to do.
If you go looking for the devil and his spooks most likely sooner or later you will surely find them. When you do find them they will most likely attach themselves to you and follow you wherever you go.
They will then then start bringing mental, physical and spiritual sickness to your friends, families, neighbors and others you come into contact with. Weird things will begin to happen and people will be creeped out and will not want anything to do with you.

I do understand that what you say is out of concern for what you see as a possible loss of a christian soul, and for that I say thank you. This is unfortunately a point were we see things differently. My faith in God is unshaken, and I will do what I feel is the mission that heavenly father has sent me on. There are things in and around our world that we as of yet can not explain.I do not see our investigations as satanic activity, sorry you do.

Satanic entertaining activity? We go in to help people. I have even blessed a home that had seemingly demonic activity and by the grace od God the family was freed of their bondage. I see this more as a crusade against evil than spooks and hookus pookus.

Maam you may take me however you want, I believe in God's power over demons. I said seemingly because I am not accustom to seeing something that strong. I would think a "good pious christian" like yourself knowing is poosible through god's grace and love. All I have seen from your posts as of late has been full of venom, and hate. and yes....i live mere feet from adsmore and they do take themselves too seriously..and the mayor does too..it was rediculous when we had a wind storm recently a large tree fell in the yard of adsmore and next thing i saw was a city truck getting it and hauling it off

Sadly the old families get the love in town. No wonder the town is dying due to the young people moving away for a chance for something better. We live within walking distance from there ourselves, yeah the tree was like first page news.

Now now tellmemore..... some people just don't understand like you & me. The Bible does clearly state to abstain from all evil, even the apperience off evil. I believe that includes witchcraft, sorcery, and "ghost-hunting". No, it doesn't say ghost-hunting, but in my opinion, it's implied.
When you deal with spirits, you open yourself up to them. I'll bet paranormal owns a Ouji board too. Things like that have never even been allowed in our house. Paranormal, all I'll sayis be careful, very careful.

From what i was taught the bible strictly states to avoid any and all contact with the dead. Contact means exactly what it means...contact.

Visual contact...audible contact...verbal contact...physical contact...its all the same and its not supposed to be done.

It doesnt mean go and dig up some obscure passage of old testament scripture and then twist it into saying its okay to do something the bible says not to do.

I am not a mystic, or claim to have psycic powers. I think the more you know about spirits and the occult the better prepared you are to handle them. You are no one to judge anyone. I beleive demons can pose as friendly spirits, and then BAM, it's too late, you're sick, you're families sick, and the doctors don't know why.

We visited the Adsmore Museum House today, and we did not take it personally that they watched the group. You cannot tell by a person's appearance whether or not they are likely to steal. There are irreplaceable items in the house, and the women are just doing their job. I do not feel that they are taking themselves too seriously. In an age of "easy-come, easy-go", it is nice to see people who value the "treasures" of the past. In our disposable society and era of mass production, I found everything in the house to be interesting and unique. By looking at the photos and postcards, you get a glimpse of how much these people meant to each other. These were affluent people, so much of what they owned was beyond average for that time. I loved that we could visit there and get a glimpse of what those person's lives might have been like. While many would consider the place just full of "objects", those objects tell a lot about the people that owned them. I for one feel blessed to have seen such a lovely place, and am thankful that they do take it seriously.
