They will probably be bought by the people who own the Cadiz radio station, which means 90 percent of what you hear on there will become Trigg County and Christian County news.

Enjoy.

Hopefully whoever buys it will stop calling it the wave. What does that have to do with Princeton?

WPKY stood for Princeton KY.

WAVJ doesn't stand for anything and just sounds stupid, as does calling it the wave.

Sorry Missy if you work there or something, but that's just embarrassingly horrible. Whoever came up with that should be shot.

Radio is boring.
Please

Please, someone require the new radio station employees to actually attend an English class or something.

The current employees make Princeton sound like a bunch of country bumpkins. Is that the image we want to give to those who listen?

Is it any better an image to look your took up on topix and see people like you and the other drama queens bitching and complaining about everyone and everything around town? Geez ypur life must suck if all you can do is sit around all day and find things to complain about.

Said the person who went on Topix and complained about something.

Seriously, hmmm, 25 people see Topix and realize it's mostly crap. The local radio station should have a few more listeners and higher aspirations. Unfortunately, it really doesn't. You get the same uneducated sound on the radio that you read on this board.
thats because

What happened to the good ole WPKY that I grew up with? I agree with whoever said that WAVJ doesn't make any sense. I don't even care what kind of music they play, they should go back to being WPKY.

WPKY was an important part of the community. I wonder how many names from the past people still remember. Lots of people went through there to go on an do well in radio, and I other careers. We would listen to find out ball scores, and if schools were open. I was the ONLY source of daily news. Names I remember: Goodaker, Wilson, Mahoney, Boren, Burnam. It was not network quality, but just good local radio

All the current employees are well educated. One of them holds two masters degrees from accredited universities, two are Rank 2 teachers, two are bilingual and all with higher education. Not only have they attended English classes, two of them are cross-culturally trained, one holds a B.A. in radio/TV journalism, Spanish, and an advanced 94 post graduate theology degree. Two have them have over 20 plus years public teaching experience and have traveled the world. In fact, two of them can teach English as a first and second language. One of them has been a well received public speaker and leader for 36 years in small and large settings. The answer to ignorance is truth.
