I'm really wanting to know how good Dr. Hart is and what the baby ward is like. I'm 4 1/2 months and I've heard stories but I would just like to ask the public for their experiences. Please keep the forum on what I asked because that's all I need to know. I'm new to this area and mostly went to Paducah for my needs. Thanks in advance. Sorry if this posts twice.

Most if not all of the doctors Induce you two weeks early for their convenience.

Well, I'll put my foot down. I have always been induced and it was either on the due date or a week or so after. I refuse to go early (even though it's tempting) for their convenience. They are supposed to stay in the oven for so many weeks for a reason and if I can carry out 40 weeks with no problem, they will wait.

I have heard a lot of good things about this hospital and it's maturnity ward and the dr has been talked about positively. I have always went to WBH I would recommend them instead.

I would suggest Dr. Stitt. There are a few people that really like Dr. Hart, but there are also a great many horror stories because of him. I understand that things can happen, but I've been told by more than one person that Dr. Hart can be very rough. Dr. Gapp is also pretty good, but he doesn't talk much. Dr. Stitt is very approachable, and will take time to answer your questions. The maternity wing at JSMC is great. I myself don't particularly like the rest of the hospital, but they have a wonderful staff in L & D.

I wanted Dr. Doyba but I know he's not there anymore. I've heard many stories but that's just it, stories. I've heard great things about Dr. Stitt and looking into him as well. I prefer WBH but with where I live and gas prices, I couldn't always make the drive. I said before, if I knew when I was in labor(always been induced and barely know what contractions are like before labor hits) I would go there but I don't know if that's possible.

Dr. Dobay delivered my son, but he is now practicing at Centennial in Nashville. I had gone to Dr. Gapp throughout my pregnancy, but had to see Dr. Dobay for what ended up being my last prenatal visit because Dr. Gapp was out of town. Dr. Dobay talked to me more during that appointment than Dr. Gapp did during all of my visits with him. I know why Dr. Dobay left, but if Nashville wasn't so far away, I would seriously consider going to him if I were to have another child.

Dr. Lopez was my anestethiologist, and he was wonderful. I was terrified to have an epidural, and he completely put me at ease.

Also, if you call the OB floor, they will arrange for you to take a tour if you want to.

I delivered my first son there with Dr Gapp. I found out I was pregnant and once again went to dr Gapp. During my ultrasound the baby measured 10 weeks but had no heartbeat. He set me up for a DNC the following day. During a simple procedure that was only supposed to last ten minutes, he cut thruogh my cervix and into my sigmoid colon. I was in surgery for over 4 hours. He told my family I may have to have a colostomy the rest of my life and a a general surgeon was called in. I was cut from inside my bellybutton down and across. I spent two
Nights in the hospital and two and a half weeks recovering. Dr. Gapp came to my room afterwards and said, " this hasn't happened to me in thirty years, sorry it had to be you. Guess were not friends any more." Needless to say I do NOT recommend Jennie Stuart. I just thank God I didn't have to have the colostomy.

I had a high risk pregnancy and went to Dr. Hart. He was polite, friendly, and very professional. He really seems to care about each of his patients. He also allowed us to make payments on our bill, instead of charging a large amount all at once. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Hart delivered my granddaughter about 7 wks ago, he is awesome and I have been in healthcare for about 25 yrs. The nurse was ok after she figured out we were already 7 cm. Not too happy with nightshift at hosp on ob wing.

I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant and Dr Gapp is my doctor. He's not exactly the most talkative doctor when you have questions and I have to go to Paducah to see a utero specialist because at my 17 weeks, he said there was an amniotic band on my child's limb. He said "you know when kids come out with half an arm or a claw? That's what the amniotic band is" and when I asked him for a second opinion he told me it wasn't necessary. So I called places on my own and made him set up an appointment with the specialist in Paducah. I've heard stories from women at work that had their kid at Jenny Stuart and it's not pretty. Like, one lady took her daughter there a year ago to have her baby and she specifically said she wanted to breast feed but the nurses bottle fed the baby instead of bringing the baby to her room and then the baby had latching problems and she was forced to bottle feed. One girl almost died because they made her bleed a lot during a c-section... Jenny Stuart doesn't have a good reputation.

Oh, and come to find out, the specialist in Paducah said its not an amniotic band on a limb. It's on the placenta and it's to no hard to the baby. So dr Gapp gave me wrong information.
