Hi, I was called finally and hired with aerotek to work at Toyota. I've heard both good and bad. I'm unsure if I want to leave my stable job for this new career. So my question is... Once I start do I have to pass anymore exams? I heard that I could get fired within my first few weeks if I could pass some fundamental stuff??? Is this true? If so is it hard, what does it entail, is there other people doing the same thing? Is it a lot of pressure? Do many people get fired because of it? I feel confident that I can build vehicles but I just do want to ruin of life over what could be a big gamble! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please leave negative comments about Toyota out of this, I am just looking for some true helpful advice!

First off congrats on the job offer! My husband has been with Aerotek for a year now and he loves it. The stuff that you have to pass is simply getting signed off on jobs within a reasonable amount of time. My hubby got signed off on everything after his first attempt and said it was really easy. He did mention that there were a couple of people that were having a harder time but they don't give up on you and just fire you!

I wont lie. Once you start you'll go through fundamental skills. Basically it just prepares you to start doing things that you'll be doing out on the line such as rolling bolts in your hands and making shots. Then youll go through a test that applies all the skills youve learned. You have to do a bunch of stuff within a certain amount of time. It can be a lot of pressure and very frustrating but if i can do it so can you. Ive seen a lot of people pass that probably shouldn't have. As long as you show youre really trying they will work with you as much as they can to get you to pass. Aerotek is a great opportunity. It is the only way to get hired on with Toyota. Good luck!
