It seems that Gloucester County is not the only place where the departure of its County Administrator was one element of the change that was ushered in by last fall's election.

I'm curious to know if other top county employees in Prince George found that it was time to "move on" as well?

OH PLEASE! That is pretty lame, even for you,"Guy." Is that the best you can do?

Why don't you just google it and find out if that topic interests you? Whether other employees there moved on or didn't has nothing whatsoever to do with our situation here in Gloucester.

As Matt stated in the article: "Unlike Prince George, however, Gloucester's supervisors find themselves in court and facing possible removal from office."

You are going to have to come up with something better than this if you want to continue on in your role as shill for the foul four!

Thanks for the info, Matt. She seems like an interesting person. I would be interested to know if development ran amok under her tenure.

With the exception of maybe Williamsburg, can you tell me another place where development hasn't run amok? We have the transportation problems today because of poor planning yesterday.

Well, if a new BOS was voted in and she saw something on the "wall" she cared not to be part of-
Why not use the tools given, to find out. I would not worry so much though, Lane Ramsey has already stated his stance on Ms. Garton.
That should be enough to carry on W/O digging too hard.

Ms. Garton seems to be a stand up Lady. Good background in education, & work history along great comments from Campbell. MS. Garton has a very positive attitude with a hands on approach
to help guide the county into the 21st Century with her knowldege
and Grass Roots background.

Good choice for Gloucester, VA.

It sure is a shame that poor Matt can't stick to the topic of the article, the new county administrator. Proves he just love shoving trash on Gloucester County.

Poor excuse of a reporter!

I think we should support Ms. Garton and welcome her to Gloucester. She is probably going to need our support if she has to answer to the Fab Four for very long!
Her experience in local government and education is a big plus for Gloucester. I like that she has experience in academia! I for one, would like to her her response if/when she tours GHS.

You are stupid! It was a well written positive article about the woman! Any background to the story was just that!

Just goes to show that no matter what is written it will be viewed as negative by the 4 and their supporters.

Who told you Williamsburg was an exception? Many people from there will tell you a much different story on that issue!

Go Team Gloucester!

Ms. Garton sounds invigorated and ready to take the helm. Lane Ramsey will see she is adjusted before he leaves. I like her style and I love Lane Ramsey.:D

Good worth ethics, excellent in her positions, per Mr. Campbell.

I really hope she does well, but I think that I'll just be watching w/ Campbell's endorsement. Isn't he an officer in VACO?
Altemus was an officer in VACO for several years -including being its president til late last year or this year.

I agree...I would hope that she is given the time and space she needs to hire employees. In spite of the mess with the court issues, she sounds focused on the future with a positive outlook.

I wasn't trying to suggest that there was any connection. Simply that in a time when we are seeing lots of political change, we shouldn't be so shocked to see staff changes in the wake of elections.

While my views may be unpopular, and certainly I am arguing against their removal, to suggest that I am in some way being deceptive as is implied by the term "shill" is inaccurate and unwarranted.

I feel sorry for this lady, she does not know what she is getting in to
bless her heart. The gang that hates the four BOS will pick her to pieces.
Hope she has good nerves. I wish her well and will pray for her every day.}Good Luck Miss Garton , I know you will do very well.

The current majority of the BOS (aka Fab 4) ran on change. Now you have something to build on. If they could've only gotten it right the first time. Time to let bygones be bygones. Congratulations BOS, you now have our support.

I stand corrected. Every town has run amok with development. But I do have to ask a question. If that's the case in Gloucester then why blame the current BOS? They have only been in power for 8 months. If Gloucester has problems with development then it sounds to me that the old crew got what was coming....The Boot!

There is no overdevelopement in Gloucester in my eyes...and there is no way of telling now whether we would have been overdeveloped or not...not now that the citizenry have become as involved as they are.
