A new branch library for Prince George County

If I were in charge of spending the money, it wouldn't go to a library. There is a brand new library in Hopewell that anyone can use. Maybe they could build a rec center so their rec department, which has good, solid people, could have a building instead of a trailer. That's one of many better options than a library.

Which would be a lie . Prince George was still paying Hopewell up until the mid 60's for access to the negro school Carter G Woodson . Once Patrick Copeland was integrated , Prince George was forced to accept their own negroes . And their debt to Hopewell was paid off by allowing Hopewell to annex Charles City Point . And if you search through your budget , you'll still find primce George contributing a few dollars .

speaking of Hopewell's new library, What do all of u think about it ? I feel it was way over done. Too much money spent. And as for the new human resource building, Why was the health dept not included ? I do not understand Hopewell's spending !

Maybe we could spend more money on creating jobs and attracting more companies to the county. We need more places for people to work in the county instead of traveling to other areas for work.

The library is a complete waste of money but those busy body little ladies in the women's club beat the Supervisors into finally doing it. No one will use it (Except for porn, illegal things, and posting on topix-J Paul will be able to walk across the lawn to post)- will be just like the old library at the courthouse was- anyone remember that....no....because no one used it- thats why it closed. This is what happens when feel good liberal groups get together and "decide" what the community needs. I'm sorry the BOS finally caved into the them. Complete waste.

@ Waste of Money:

The old PG library was closed due to public safety concerns. As you know that "Old" courthouse complex was a rather old establishment and asbestos was used in it's design as a insulator/flame retardant. That would also explain the constant renovations to the other building inside that same complex.
