I am sorry that you think I am an idiot, but I would like to refer you to the first four words of my post: "Here's just another opinion." I did not intend to portray my way as the only way. I merely suggested what has worked for me and for millions upon millions since June 10, 1935 when Alcoholics was founded and July of 1953 when the fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous was founded. I also just imparted my experience with Suboxone and Methadone over five years working in the field. Everyone has their own opinion and while I have not witnessed the staggering success rate that you proport with these two drugs I do believe that everyone has the right to make an informed decision. That is the sole reason that I shared my experience, strength, and hope just as you did as well.
I will say again. Whatever way "Need information" decides to recovery I wish him or her the best of luck and hope that they find the freedom that I enjoy today.
No! I don't think YOU are an idiot! It's just the screen name I use on here! I was being sincere when I told you that I was happy for you and congratulated you on being clean. I know methadone/suboxone don't have huge success rates (I read something that said it's 30-70% compared to NA having 5-10%). A girl I grew up with developed a very bad addiction to opiates and tried the NA route. It worked for a few weeks, but then she relapsed. It took going to jail for a few months because of her habit to make her want to get clean. She enrolled in a methadone program after her release (she said that even though she'd gotten through the worst part of it in jail, she still had intense cravings and didn't want to relapse) to stay clean. She's been clean for 3 years now.

I have a lot of respect for anyone that can turn an addiction around. I'm sorry if my screen name made you think I was insulting you.

suboxone is not a trade.

its not suboxone that fixes you. It keeps withdrawl off of you. withdrawl is painful, and some people can not endure it.

therapy is what helps. they give you suboxone and then teach you how to cope with everyday stresses.

methadone has a worse withdrawl than suboxone or oxycotton.

methadone, you start small and work your way up(sound like anything *cough**oxys**cough*)

suboxone, you start with 16mg and work your way down to none.

people trash suboxone because they don't understand the process. suboxone is in place so you can consentrate on your issues and underlying problems. Most people end up addicted because they have an untreated condition.

that's why some people can get a prescription and then put the stuff down, and some people end up hooked. chances are, you have an undiagnosed problem.

suboxone helps you live a normal life while you sort out your issues, learn to steer clear of drugs and people who will influence you, and help to find out if there is a problem that keeps you coming back to self-medication.

I hope you find the help you need. try to get a dr. that is a psychiatrist. some suboxone dr.s are just regular M.D.s but there are some that are psych docs.

Is there a doctor that prescribes methadone instead if going to the center? I work 60+ hours a wk, & this would save me almost $400 a month if I can get a doc to prescribe so I can use my health insurance. I go to counseling 2x a month & NA 1-2x a wk in addition .

Dr Craig at outside of Huntington near Lavalette is a suboxone doctor. Requires you to goto counseling once a month. In all it is about 600 a month, but that is a lot cheaper than being on hard drugs that can damage the brain. You can have a normal life.

Lol that price ($600) a month, does not include your Medicine or counseling. I go to Counselor's Cottage and I pay $225 a month and that includes group Counseling. Interhope in Russell is $200 a month!
