I wonder if Ms. Orr will be turning down medicaid/medicare and SS when she is eligible for these very basic American entitlements....I don't think so. Please stop disrespecting our flag and go vote to express your dislike with health care reform! All the Elite socialist criminals are in D.C. both parties are controlled by the enemy that has no allegence to this nation or Constitution that they took an oath to uphold. How about offering an opt out to the bankrupted SS and socialist b.s. entitlements that have been forced on this independent nation. George Orwell warned US!

Yea, No reform! I'm perfectly content being 37th in the world (according to the conspirators in the World Health Organization). Next we can get rid of all those other Socialist programs like Medicaid and Social Security. Let's privatize the whole government. The corporate pirates will take good care of us. They did a stellar job after 'Dub deregulated Wall Street and got us into the shape we're in. Gotta go, Rush is coming on.........

While the U.S. Flag Code does permit flying the flag with the union down, it specifies only "...as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property." Well consider the following: a) 10.2% unemployment b) 11 trillion dollars in debt (and I hold both sides accountable for this) c) a government run by people who refuse to honor their oaths to "protect and defend" the Constitution (ie Pelosi comments to CNS news) d) 1.4 Trillion deficit for 2010 fiscal year e) govt health care to the tune of 1 Trillion that will erode liberty (ref life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness....the more of my money they take the less able I am to pursue happiness et al) f) bankrupt entitlements for SS and Medicare (again both sides are guilty) g) peaceful protestors denigrated, maligned, profiled and arrested when trying to visit their representatives (see protests on Nov 9 and the Nazi et al comments) h) agents of our govt who are tax cheats, liars and thieves (see Geithner et al) i) Fort Hood and the PC that got us to that point j) the untenable situation in Afghanistan...4 months McChrystal has been waiting for an answer k) the sinking dollar l) the inflationary spiral that is inevitable due to b,d,e, f and k above If today isnt a situation leading to "extreme danger to life or property.", then I am not sure what qualifies.

Fifty five thousand young men died in the place you call NAM,NAM,NAM. You have no respect for anyone or anything. Oh, maybe yourself. Many are not fortunate to serve in the military but who serve their country in other ways. Tell me if this is not so. Many who do serve in the forces say that no one can respect the flag as much or more than they. I disagree. I AM saying that too often I hear military men belittle folks who are not in military. You know, the ol' "I'm more American than you" bit. Yep, many good men and women (did you forget them?) died in Vietnam. My, or anyone else, calling the country "Nam" does not disrespect ANY of them. If so, how? Sir, you missed the point entirely: The "average" citizen cannot be dismissed because they never enlisted. The flag is not owned more by one person than another. Calling a thing disrespectful because you don't agree with it simply does not make it so. Still feel dissed? I'm not respecting you enough? Lemme break out my shoe shine box and maybe you'll get in a better mood.

You are right Al, I think most people respect our flag and we veterans do not own the American Flag and I agree that some serve in other ways. I respect that and should not have used that type of language. I do love the flag and was taught to respect it in every way. I think this lady is abusing the flag to protest something that has not happened and probably will not happen. In my opinion there is no excuse for that. There are other ways. No I haven't forgotten those that died in Vietnam, I can't because I lost several friends over there. I was the lucky one. Sorry Al, but in the heat of battle words are sometime used like weapons. But i could use a Shine. Haven't had one since I retired. lol . Have a good day!

This shows her lack of understanding of what the flag symbolizes and how our country works. I am sick of people who have clearly never read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights popping off about how they have a RIGHT to be ignorant. Whether she agrees with the bill or not, disrespecting the flag and our country (and those who have died for her right to be uneducated) is infantile.

What an idiot. I'm sorry. But this woman will probably benefit from the healthcare reform before she even understands why she is such an effective pawn in the anti democratic movement. Let her fly the flag upside down. If she wants to burn it, fine with me. Let this hypocrit do anything her heart desires to attract as much attention to herself as she pleases. Both "sides" think the other is brainwashed, and both are correct. People just do not have the capacity for independent thought anymore. Maybe it's the TV or popular culture. OR maybe the gene pool has become too shallow to support real intelligent people anymore.

It is meant to symbolize fighting troops moving forward into battle. Thank you Mr. Flag! You tell these moronic people exactly what the flag represents. My boyfriend is in Iraq and when I told him what this woman commented on your post we both laughed in the shear ignorance of her remarks. The flag is for soldiers and representation of the USA, not to represent politicians and personal political views.
